I was thinking (as always ;-) of new ways of making isk in eve, and here is what came up...
Probably many of you did read a few science fiction stories about big, lazy buisnessmans that wanted to taste the trill of the hunt to spice their lives, but not risk much. They were renting companies that supplied them with a prey that they could hunt.
Since eve has a lot carebear players, that maybe would like to test the thrill of pvp, but are too afraid of.. why not supply them with a similar toy? A company that would give you the possibility to hunt it down. Pure entertainment. The one who pays set the rules - just a matter of cash.
I know the idea is a bit sick, and I'm sure I won't try to put that into life myself... but maybe someone other? What do you think? Would it work?

Spose it *could* work.
Corp A pays 20 Mill per week to hunt Corp B.. Oh.. hold on, doesn't that sound like a war dec? lol

Yeah, but corp B doesn't get the money. Sounds like it could be a good idea. Could maybe tied in with the contract system.

Or you could hire a corporation to attack your own corporation in an effort to have them gel and unite against the common enemy and weed out the freeloaders without coming off as the aggressor possibly chasing away the semi-combatant pilots in your outfit.
No I've never done so myself, the asshats find us themselves.

Yes it needs a wardec. The difference is that the corp hunted is payed to be hunted, But the corp who pays can set any 'unfair' rule to make them feel superior & safe enough (it's all about feeding their ego ;-). So they can say: - you can't pod us, but we can pod you - you can only use t1 stuff, but we can use all we want - you can only use frigs & cruiser, etc...
The things they get for their money is the hunt + the trophea : killmails ;-)

Yes there are many movies on the subject, as well as many stories. A completely different idea would be based on a hopefully well known movie 'The Game'
I won't explain what it is all about (since I assume the movie is known). The eve company to organize such 'events' would be the equivalent of 'Consumer Recreation Services', the person to be 'tricked' some big corp CEO (equivalent of Nicholas Van Orton in the movie), while the final event could be a total corp theft or something similary disastrous. Of course at the end all get back to normal and the bill for the service is really huge ;-))

I really don't think EVE has that many carebears. The only thing is though, one of their trademarks is whining so they all migrate to the forums every time some dirty little pirate pops their ship that they couldn't really afford in the first place.

CEOs hiring small merc outfits to attack their corp while setting down key conditions has happened before never done it myself but have heard of it being done strip out the freeloaders and keep the core ones. Sign a confidentially agreement with the merc corp a serious merc corp CEO will never reveal his buyer lest they get a bad rep

Dumb
The story only works because in real life we cant hunt people down.
In EVE we can all ready do it if we pay for a war dec.
Wherever you went - here you are.
