My petition got submitted, within 15 min I was told to resubmit under a different topic. I did that, then the topic of the petition changed again without me doing anything. And now I'm getting no action on it at all. Am I getting the shaft, run-around or just not being patient enough?

It all depends on what the petition was for, exploit petitions and harassment petitions and also stuck petitions are placed at the top of the queue whereas petitions for reimbursement are placed much lower down the list.
If its about reimbursement it will take a few days to a week or so to get answered as its lower on the list, a harassment or stuck petition should be answered the same day. ---

pends on what the petition concerns - generally speaking if u lost a ship because of lag then u can expect to wait 1 - 2 weeks (as i am currently doing), my ship and my corp mate (who lives in a different country) got lagged so bad by the time i came back and tried to warp i was history - that petition was submitted at 1am approx on sunday the 10th from what my corp mates tell me i can expect to wait alot longer for anyone to do anything to replace my ship - its a gd job i have insurance otherwise i would be boned ^^
if the petition involves exploits or griefing then generally these type of petitions take higher priority
hope that helps

Basically I lost a ship to a mission griefer exploiting the probe accuracy bug/mis-configuration. I was in deadspace setup for pve and they were clearly setup for pvp. To make matters worse, they we so cowardly as to sit cloaked until I aggrod a large group of mobs (which made all the difference in the outcome). I've never been warp jammed during a mission and doubt that I'd ever need to run from a level 3 mission in a Drake anyway. Hopefully not anyway, since the drake takes approx 45 min to enter warp (j/k).
So, long story short, my petition got kicked back by the 'exploits' gm; resubmitted to the reimbursement gm as told to do. Then the topic changed to 'missions' without any word from the reimbursement gm.
It's not a big deal to gather the isk for another ship, but I'd hate to get only 2 missions out of each 50 mil isk ship. The real pain is gathering all the fittings.
With all the materials research queues being 2-weeks+ (min), compeling involvement in manufacturing (my chosen career path) seems out of the question for now. So for the time being I was trying to raise my standings with research corps via missions. In my opinion, if players can enter and attack you in your deadspace, then there should also be concord lynch mobs cruising low-sec. Then random death will at least be evenly distributed and not just be bored old-timers with 8-10 mil skillpoints laying down the hammer of injustice on new players.
Aside from all of that, it would still be nice to know where I stand in the damn petition queue.
