There should be a benefit to travel if you are actually playing the game non-afk...

Edited by: Baleorg on 13/12/2006 14:29:15 ..while were at it with implementing more carebear pedding stuff why not do a rightclick and select where we want to insta travel anyway the next version has then a rightclick menu on enemy shisp where you can select "kill" thaat pops up a "hackers" (or was it paradroid?) game where you need to connect a few lines while your shield trys to hold shields.. if you hurry up you can kill a carrier/mothership/titan withitn 20 sec if youre good at those connect games of course additional modules gives you additional dots to connect even better *yawn*
bottomline.. in case someone missed the pure sarcasm in here: NO AUTOPILOT wrps to 0km because its not the intended gameplay, and a lot of players (including me) never want to see that option ---

this is the 2nd subject ive seen like this. warp to 0 was only added to reduce server load of current bm lvl's within the game. if your a lazy player who likes using autopilot then live with the 15km distance and the chances of getting ganked on approach to the gate if your carrying a expensive load

However usefull, I dont think this would ever happen.
TBH its not really needed, But I do afk travel around the various systems because it can be boring (unless I`m carrying expensive equipment)
I use a fast frigate to get me from a to b & tbh, theres not a great difference in speed between autopilot & using the mouse at every gate.
Live with it as it is.

Keeping autopilot at 15k is basically Darwinism at work in EVE. It's perfect as it is, leave it alone.

No, turn it the other way and let the autopilot always warp to 100km, so that those nasty carebears who want to travel faster have to whine all day.
In addition to that remove all other help by the boardcomputer so that for example you have to fly your ship with a joystick involving interstellar physics so that only those non working kids who play the game 25 hours a day with four accounts can even manage to fly a ship at all after training it for at least a year.
I like all your anti-noobish comments so much as all the for fun playing carebears can see how skilful and cool you are.

I'd rather see the autopilot approach distance doubled to 30km. Eve universe has gotten way too small since the introduction of superhighways, personally I preferred how it was back when all regions were clearly separate from each other in terms of travel distances. It made an impression that the universe was really vast, and you had to do 70+ jump trips to get to some remote region. I really miss that.

It's fine the way it is, I think. If you make the distance too large, people would never do it (well, much less would)... and having a few idiots slowboating around AFK isn't necessarily a bad thing.
I'm not a pirate/ganker, btw. But I also don't autopilot!

NO.... and NO again... want to travel faster... do it manually... warp to 0 is easy enough atm and it was implemented to cut down bookmarks...
that would be one of the stupidest things to put ingame

Nope...
... if you have the time to travel on Auto-Pilot, you have time for WT15.
By the way, I wouldn't be able to finish making my sandwich when on AP if they introduced it. I don't want be a sitting duck cause I reach my destination while I'm still chopping up onions :D

Although I think 0mts warp has been a good gameplay improvement, 0mts warp with autopilot is a bad idea

A very very small part of me wants this, as it is annoying having to do so much repetetive clicking when travelling, and doing so is hardly 'playing the game', but to be able to get around that quickly when truly AFK (as opposed to, "I'm at the keyboard but RSI has made my hands useless") would be bad. ----------

The perfect example of give an inch and someone wants a mile. CCP please take note of this and stop giving people the inch to start with.
i like the 0km feature. it has had to come about because of the lag caused by instajumps
i wished they had actually made it so different ships were limited to how close they could warp into a jumpgate.
This would have kept the speed differential of ships in the game.
ie frigates could jump to 0km cruisers to 4lm BS to 8km all the way up to freighters back at 15km
I hope to they NEVER instigate the Autopilot jump to 0km.
But if they are about it could they please include some of the following.
Mined ore to be refined and beamed straight back to a station hangar without the miner leaving the belt.
Carriers have the ability to shoot ships that are in other solar systems completely.
Pirates should be able to shoot out their victims engines for easier ransoming.
Insurance payouts not handed out to pilots using autopilot when they get blown up.
As for travel, the most obvious solution to speeding it up is create teleporter devices within stations themselves. You just jump from one station to another and never actually enter space.

I seriously doubt it.
Personally, i think it will be a good idea. Your not catching inties anyways and with 0km AP, more people will fly afk. Leaving it free for the pirates to plunder and kill incomming pilots.

/start sarcasm mode Yeah thats a great idea,
Im sure the missioning isk farmers will appreciate not actually having to be at the keyboard.
for those who dont get it, Eve is a game to be played, not something where you set up a mission and go AFK for half hour and magically get a reward.
Autopilot to 0 is a sensible as bringing in an automaticaly "resolve fight" button, whre instead of actually PvPing and wasting all that time actually shooting each other, just push the button and the computer will decide instantly who won.
In fact why bother undocking, as soon as someone enters local push the button, after all why waste all that effort actually trying to find them?
/end sarcasm mode
the game is meant to be played by living people not data chips

best u can do is set ur destination warp to 0km from the first gate, while in warp activate autopilot, u will then jump as soon as you come out of warp. You will then need to disable autopilot and repeat. For me im glad autopilot doesnt take you to 0kms, The okms wes ment to replace bookmarks. which im glad to see the back of. They were a pain to make. Be glad that noobs today CAN warp to 0kms.
