Just curious, why does ccp forbid all mention of forum moderation or bans.
this doesnt seem honest to me. wouldnt it be better to have " transparent justice" so that the community can look at it and know for a fact that fair and impartial judgement was meated out. what gaurantees do we as a community have that ccp's decisions are consistant, and made with integrity.
its similar to how i feel about the lottery. too much is hidden from the community's view therefore we can never be sure its fair. it would be more fair to keep things out in the open where all can see what has happened.
not having an open system to view justice handed out means we can never have an avenue of redress outside of personal e-mails that may or may not be answered.
not having the lottery system open and transparent means we can never be sure that its truly random.

I do not assume people will start flaming the moderator team when they discuss forum moderation. I know they will simply because they've done so in every single case where we've allowed it. And we don't have the resources to monitor those threads 24/7 which is what would be required for us to keep them open.

all forums do it, it's to stop endless posts whining about mods modding, or not modding, depending on what said whiner wants at that particular moment. here you go have a looksie at this for a laugh

invalid arguement just make the moderation threads unpostable to by anyone but the concerned and prosecuting parties. then it doesnt need babysitting but justice is still transparent.

Hey I got banned for 3 months for gang inviting a alt-scout in a shuttle as it passed our two manned camp. Imagine how I would've discussed that on the forums if allowed.

Your suggestion is totally impractical and judging from your "NEXT" reply, your tone is hostile. So, I gather you just want to ARGUE, not discuss. Keep your silly thread. |

why should it be locked, im not violating it by discussing a specific case, im demanding to know why they hide justice from the community, is it so wrong to want a confirmation of ccp's integrity . |

Justice is not hidden. The moderators clearly state in the threads why they were locked =/

i think one of those following 2 sentences will be appearing when a mod actually locks it:
"turned into a flamewar" or (more likely] "troll attempt"
but will end with "click" :-P ---

Because discussing moderation or GM decisions would also include disclosing all information that led to the decision. This in turn would violate privacy clauses CCP either has in their EULA or which are required by law. ---------- These are my views and mine alone. They do not represent the official stance of my corporation or alliance in any way.

i dont mean locked threads im talking about in game discipline.
i also think im completely right to question thier integrity as has been shown by kierons recent response to the skills not training after account expires threads.
he started out saying it was a bug never meant to be blah blah and 45 min later a retraction is issued. so obviously he didnt know anything and was merely putting out fires or under orders to just post something to shut the whiners up. |
