I got my first kill mail! And it was the sweetest thing possible. :) I know you can't link kill mails, but let me put in some anonymous details. It started as a duel, and I took it to its grisly conclusion.

Well, it was 1v1. I'm in an NPC corp so there are no war targets. It was a duel via an agreed criminal flag, with the caveat of no ship destruction.
Which is why I considered it to be an act of piracy. I snuck in and stole his booty?

that's an act of lying, not piracy.
Would it be piracy if two people agreed to a duell at twenty paces, and at nine paces one guys buddy shot the other duellant in the back with a shotgun, whereas pea-shooters were the intended weapon for the agreed upon non-lethal duell?
You're a scammer that works outside of station, nothing more.

I don't remember any of my victims hailing me with joy over a good fight lately, nor am I saying theres anything wrong with scamming, but that IS what you did.

You sir are no pirate. Piracy requires honesty, if you say you wont blow up a ship then you dont blow up the ship. Pirates need to be honest or we dont get ransoms because the victim assumes we'll just blow them up after they pay. If you want to blow someone up, dont say you're not going to.
Good kill, but poor sportsmanship. Don't call yourself a pirate.

Ah omg.. This is a funny thread..
All of you "wanna-be" pirates telling him that pirates should be honest and not lie..
Ah, it just *****s me up :)
So, before you post again, could you PLEASE TRY and UNDERSTAND _WHAT_ a "pirate" did back in those days?
To make it easy for ya, "Lie, steal, kill, maim, rape, lie, steal some more, lie some more, lie to make it easy to kill, lie to make it easy to steal"
Does any of this ring a bell? :)
To OP:
Congrats, you scammed your first victim.. I salute you as a pirate. Not an honest pirate, not a pretty pirate.. A scumbag scoundrel who murders and lies ... But in all fairness, isn't that a compliment to you ? :D
Anywho, kudos on the raven popping, and yeah, sad for the Gist booster :/

Edited by: Belhorn Battlebeard on 15/12/2006 11:31:40 Curzon, what all these flamers mean to say is... NICE KILL, NICE LOOT. Whichever method you managed to kill them by, their defenses obviously weren't typical of a Navy Raven so I say well done mate, you've made some nice isk there.
If people wanna start calling you a liar, I'm sure most people would prefer that they just read the post and didn't reply, there's no need... it's just rude imo.

So very true. You're not a pirate to be cute and cuddly to people.
Also, if scamming involves shooting and the screaming and begging that shooting entails now then I'm gonna become a scammer. ___

Cadela, its all part of a bigger scheme that you couldn't comprehend.
Besides...there's a difference between a 5 to 1 shuttle gank at a lowsec gate, a 5 to 1 gang squad warping into a mission to gank the mission runner...and piracy.
Gankers =! Pirates.
GANKERS blow up every ship that passes by for the kill mail. Whether its profitable or not, they kill ships. Gankers are commonly mixed in with griefers, the kind of sit in tutorial deadspace and grief the new players.
Pirates want booty. They take to the pirating life because they want to profit, and aren't constrained by morale boundaries about the means of getting it.
If your list of kill mails include noob ships, shuttles, and pods....you're probably a ganker or griefer, not a pirate.
If your succession of kills or ransoms has netted you billions of ISK, then you're probably a pirate.
That's the point of my last mail. Pirates (read: GANKSQUADS) complain about lowsec being empty and instead of adapting, whine for carebears to be forced into lowsec with them. Get a clue.

No Curzon, you are not a Pirate, because you do not: "don't get it", like a real pirate does and as you mentioned in an earlier thread in this forum.
I hope you get it because I don't! And thats the difference. To ponder our brain further in a pirates fashion: The leg of a bird is just as long! (If you get that you are a true pirate!)

taunt someone to undock with this kind of ship to rip the loot is a good definition of piracy. IMHO

Gankers =! Pirates.
The definition of piracy is in the eye of the beholder..it all means different things to all of us.
And just because I'm a smartarse, it's != not =!.

Then "ganking" is a mood..because it's entirely dependant on what I feel like doing that decides on whether I mercilessly kill people left and right just for the heck of it, or if I want to ransom them. Call it what you want, but that doesn't make you right.
Of course pirates want booty..but are you saying "gankers" don't pick up loot? Last time I took part in ganking an Astarte, we sure as hell looted the crap out of his smoking remains and earned a pretty penny doing so.

I think everyone that PvP's, no matter what area of PvP they engage in, have killmails that include noob ships, shuttles and pods, so I don't see the reasoning. But thats your view.
My view is this: Killing noobships, pods and shuttles just means you don't discriminate on what you kill, and in all honesty, shuttles and noobships are for nothing BUT blowing up..I'd like you to show me ANY 0.0 space group that doesn't kill those things.
On the part of netting billions from ransoming..It might occur now and then, but I rarely hear of it being anywhere near a frequent nor likely occurance.

Meh.. The action itself is perfectly fine IMO.. Not really piracy, but whatever.. To me, piracy is more of hunting people down with scanners and probes, warping in, and popping them..
But if you're going to bother fighting, you fight to the end (or force a ransom) and the victor gets the spoils.. Victim was an idiot to think otherwise.. Hopefully he hasn't learned his lesson, cuz I would love to run into a lunchbox like that..
However, based on your previous posts, you're still a bit of a tard..
