A person in my newbie corp stated that he was able to make 2 million isk/hr by mining with just a Navitas and a couple of Miner IIs. Unfortunately, he logged out before I can get more info from him.
Where the heck is this guy mining to be making that sorta money?! I definitely want in on that cash!

He found a 0.5 system with Omber or Kernite in it, then started mining.

Have a look here
It's shows you what the different ores refine into and what price that would equate to.

Understanding how mining works will help. He is probably mining Omber or Kernite as a poster said. Have a look at the mining guide and read it through, it's not too hard !

two miner IIs on a navitas will give you... 2 * 60m3 * (1 + (mining skill level/20)) * (1 + (astrogeology skill level/20)) * (1 + (gallente frigate skill level/5))... for a maximum of 375m3 ore per minute (which is kinda tricky because the cargo capacity for that ship is 371m3 if you stuff 2 cargo expanders on it)
obviously, having mining, astrogeology AND frigate levels at maximum while still flying a lowly navitas is pretty silly, so i'm going to assume this pilot has only the minimum level to use miner tech 2s. At mining level 4 and say gallente frigate level 3 that person can mine about 230m3 of ore per minute -- Thus each hour accumulating about 13,100m3 ore per hour assuming 5% inefficiency in the actual targeting of roids...not including actually putting around in a navitas to a good location (but we won't include that in the time calculations)
Of course, going back and forth with each load to drop off at station would be plain silly...i'm assuming the miner in question would eject the ore into a jetcan" and after about an hours work flying back to a nearby station to return with an "indy hauler" (Assuming a gallente Iteron III) to transport the accumulated ore to a refining station nearby. Which would probably take about 2 trips and 10 minutes extra.
Assuming said miner has about level 3 in refining that would give roughly 1.2 million isk per hour if he or she turned the ore into minerals at a refining station and hauled it to the best market in the region. Taking about an extra 10 minutes - ONE WAY
I'm assuming the ore would be either Pyroxeres, Omber or Kernite. (since anything else more lucrative would be in low sec space and i see a very short life for any n00b unwise enough to mine in player pirate country)
Besides, that extra 30 minutes (haulage) lowers one's profit margin of an hour's mining by about 33% to about...ohhhh...say 800k isk/hour which is only 13k isk/minute
Personally, there's alot better ways to make 13k lousy credits per minute than that. What exactly was your friend bragging about, anyways? going to 0.0 space in a NAVITAS to mine for megacyte? roflmao
grrrr stupid typos edited this about a dozen times. lol ______________________ Best darned links ingame and out (backup) |

another thing to be aware of is that kernite (normal kernite, not fiery or luminous) is needed for some higher level missions, so some players who like to run missions only will put out buy orders for the kernite of 200-400 isk per ore unit. Now that will vary depending on what space you are in, but hold on to that kernite in the station, click to sell it, go to 'advanced' and put in a sell price around what people in the region are selling it for (check the market details for buyer and seller orders). If you mine 10,000 of it in an hour, and put a sell order out for 250 isk a piece, thats 2.5 mil in an hour....

Well, I wouldn't say it was this way from the get-go, but I can easily make about 2m isk in about an hour and a half by mining rich plagio and then moving the mex and pyerite to a place where the buyers are paying more. Yes, I have an industrial for the hauling part, but that doesn't take much to get into...
