Hey all, well now that I got help with the BPO stuff I need something i can haul all my minerals back and forth different stations to make a profit now and then.
But then the question arise, what industrial ship should i use for the purpose? What I have heard the Mammoth is one awesome indy. Although, I am going to use Gallente ships for other purposes such as mining/ratting
What indy should i train for, is there any pro's and con's to the different races haulers?

Not really sure on this, but I beleive the interon is pretty goo. The mark V has quite a few low slots available to put expanders in I beleive (I use a Badger MK II personally :( )

The Mammoth is the second-best industrial ship and only requires Minmatar Industrial level four. The Iteron Mark V is the best (and blows the Mammoth out of the water for cargo space), but requires Gallente Industrial level five.

All races have good indies. Depending on which one you are, you should aim for the following for easy use: Amarr, Bestower; Caldari, Badger Mk II; Gallente, Iteron Mk III; Minmatar, Mammoth.
If you want to be a dedicated hauler, then Iteron V is the best way to go. But unless you're really dedicated, the trade off isn't worth it for a new player. As above, the Mammoth is the next best. But if you're not one of these races, you'll be fine with whatever race you have. That way you won't have to train a new frig skill to III to use one.

Heres the deal they didnt make anyone race indies all better than the other races.
What they did was tier them and one race has the best in one tier. And the next race has the best in another tier. etc.
The gallente have the best in the strongest and last tier. But before that they dont have the best.
In the tier before the last tier is the mammoth (minmater). And its much much much faster to train for.
So the question you want to answer is do you want something that will be best in the present or the future?
The most practical way to answer this question is to ask yourself if you plan to train straight to industrial 5. If not I would go the minmater route. Because it has the hoarder at level 2 industrial skill and thats my pick for best easiest to train for industrial. Train that quick and that might be all you ever need in the short term.

I disagree. The Amarr have the best entry-level indies without a doubt. The Bestower and Sigil are very useful at any level. They have the most low slots for the buck (so to speak), so their only rivals are the Mammoth and Itty V for cargo space/usefulness.
If you just want a quick way to transport a lot of stuff, or to move a lot of stuff quickly, Amarr is the best. If you want other options, look elsewhere if you're willing to train for it. But the Bestower is hands down, the quickest route to 10k+ of cargo space out there.
I'm not saying it's the best, but it's the quickest.

If you want to train indies all the way up to lvl 5 then gallente is the way to go, if you can't be bothered to take it up that far try the minmatar, at lvl 4 you can get the Mammoth which is a GREAT hauler.
If you just want a small hauler go for the Amarr Sigil, it's fast, agile and has a ton of low slots to cater for your needs (WCS, cargo expanders, nanofibers or any combination), most of the time it has enough cargo space to suit your needs.

Mammoth is no doubt the way to go, and then head for the Mastodon or Bustard :)

Thanks for the answer guys. Well, it seems that indys are a question of taste and liking. I have seen the math somewhere of transport ships, although I doubt i will haul that kind of amount anyways.
Well, It seems that Amarr and Minmatar indys stand side by side. as you said, I seriously doubt i will be putting down a month worth of training on a Iteron Mark V as it looks now. The mammoth seems interesting though.

I wonder why someone suggested Amarr have better indies than the Minmatar... the Mammoth has a better cargo and can fit a tank, the Bestower cannot do that. It must sacrifices cargo for a tank, just like the Impel.
Caldari and Minmatar can go full cargo and fit a good shield tank ... hence the superiority

thats easy, if its just for hauling, its just a few skills to get for a ship with a very big hold

Which race do you have Frigates to 4 for? Just go for the industrials of that race.
Bestower is good because you don't need to switch ships every time you train another level in the Industrial skill, and its cargo space grows with your skill. It still tends to get stuck in roids though.
Gallente have a different ship for each skill level, and since the best is at Industrial 5, it's a good incentive for players to take that skill to 5 and then graduate to Transports or Freighters.
Caldari only have 2, an entry-level one and a bigger one, but they have decent shield-based defense (for an industrial) and you can still EW with them somewhat.
Minmatar have 3? I believe, nice ships all of them, from the beginner/newbie one to the last tier.
When you haul minerals, it'll eventually come down to what your skill level is, and how many low slots (for cargo expanders) that industrial has. Depending on skill and what ship it is, your space could be 6000, 13000, 17000...
