I'm relatively new to the game and when I saw the new tier-3 battlecruisers, I though 'those look really awesome'
are they worth getting or should I bypass them and get a battleship instead? (this will be in a very long time, I'm very poor currently  )

Yes, but you need a lot of skills to get in to one and and be effective with, mostly because they're about pvp (small tank all gank), doesn't mean you can't pve with but you're a lot better in any first tiers Battleship. |

They're great for pvp, I love it,.. totally glass cannon style with the right skills they can be very deadly.

Honestly next to there weapon size the new Battlecruisers and Battleships do not compare in the least.
The new Battlecruisers are terrible at most forms of PvE not having enough tank or Drones to manage while most Battleships excel at PvE.
In PvP most Battleships are used in the large fleet role where you expect to engage most anything that comes your way or in small camping situations where not a lot of mobility is required. In any convoy the speed of the unit is equal to the slowest vehicle. So when dealing with groups of fast nano Battlecruisers and Cruiser / HAC bringing a massive slow ship to the gang that takes forever to align to warp or burn to gates is not an option. It slows the number of systems you can cover and your gangs ability to GTFO when targeted by a superior force. The new Battlecruisers have the DPS to form or fly with these gangs. Having a low to medium tank they can use there long range and high speed to keep them safe from fire whilst delivering a large amount of dmg to tackled or Battlecruiser + sized targets.
The choice to get one revolves around who you plan to fly with. I would say train up Battlecruisers for the Tier 2 Model and Battlships for PvE and fleets and you will simply be able to fly them on demand. As you progress they will not seem that expensive. |

For PVE? Not even remotely worth using.
For PVP? Depends on the gang. Need to be mobile? Then yes, the tier 3s are well worth it. If not, just fly a battleship. |

Yea naga and tornado are specially deadly pvp ships. otherwise. not really. They have their use. |

I thought about doing that myself. But overall I might as well still use a BS since it has drones to help with frigs and cruisers. I tend to use a navy apoc mostly gank and drake for tank and small stuff.

Flew Tornado with a mixed shield sniping fleet together with nagas, canes etc and its one of the most fun things ive done in a long time! |

If you want to PVE easy mode, use the dominix. Raven is fairly easy as well. |

Blaster ships make great brawlers. If you're expecting to be shooting run-of-the-mill BC gangs on gates, the Hype and Mega are both beastly.
The domi is a different beast all together. It has numerous ways to fit for pvp, and some of the more effective ones don't even use guns o.0 |
