I've been performing the mining tutorial and have found after mining 20+ asteroids that I have only 7 units of minerals in my cargo hold. At this rate it will take a couple of years to fill the hold. Am I missing something or is it designed to take that long? |

Sounds like your cargohold might be full. Do you have other stuff in it too? If so, clear out the extra junk, and then try jetcan mining. It works like this:
Mine until your hold is almost full. Right-click on the ore, and Jettison it.
Select the resulting can in the overview, and open it.
From now on, when your hold is almost full, drag the ore from your hold do the can.
When you're done mining, get a ship with a larger cargo capacity, and haul all the ore back to a station.

I've heard rumors that the newbie asteroids have been empty for quite some time...try another asteroid belt in the same system, if possible.

dont mine the tutorial roids min an belt in the system and get rid of the basic miner , get a frigat that gets mining bonzs and train to mining 4 asap for the T2

Thanks for the reply. I've already jettisoned all that was in the cargo hold and the capacity bar is showing all blue. Further, the capacity reading is 7 out of 120. I'm not sure if I need to do something regarding opening the cargo doors, being at a standstill while mining or other such proceedure. It's getting old real fast and I've only been here a couple of days now. Any assistance will really be appreciated. |
