I am making this request in the full knowledge that it is contrary to the wishes of the majority of the playerbase and CCPs own commercial interests, but I have to say it:
Please stop changing the game until you FIX it. Stop adding features until the ones we have work as intended. Yes, I know a lot of people want their new shiny baubbles to keep them interested but I am so sick of the same bugs coming back again and again. I am so sick of the entire playerbase being used as beta testers, subjected to add-ons and patches with glaring bugs that it takes less than an hour of play time to identify.
Since it is painfully obvious that your quality control procedures are either non-existant or woefully inadequate, try introducing smaller changes, one at a time, instead of massive ones. Yes, that does not lend itself to your marketing practices and fiestas but it may actually allow you to add things to the game without breaking older ones.
Yes, I am old and jaded and I like my stuff to work instead of being cool and shiny. I am also a computer engineer and software developer and I know I'd be out of a job if any change I introduced to my applications broke the existing functionality. I am not easily impressed. I don't care if you offer the add-ons for free (it's not like you have any choice). Much use that is if it breaks half the existing game.
That is all. Fanbois flame on. ________________

I'm not going to re-hash all the old stuff that has been said before in other threads.
There is a recent developing trend though. Since Revelations it seems like CCP have been doing more fixes during DT. Either that or they always do fixes in DT and have just been messing them more of late. As an Australian player this means that for 3 days this week the servers were offline in my timezone.
How does this relate to your request? Well if my game time can be borked this badly for weeks after a patch I would rather they do one major patch every few months. If they introduced one item at a time in say a monthly mini-patch I could readily see myself unable to play Eve all year round.

So you are a software enginneer, does that mean you also have expert knowlage of Networking? Database Managment? Large-scale server applications dealing with the amount of users Eve has? Just because you can do one thing as developer doesn't mean you have the skills to do everything.
CCP representitives have pointed out time and time again that not everybody in the Dev team can fix bugs. Would you rather CCP gave these staff a few WEEKS coffee break while the staff able to fix the bugs we are experiencing carry on working as hard as they have been to resolve bugs and other issues? -----

Actually the reason so much 'fixing' is needed is that they release so much new content with barely any testing (or with the knowledge of the problems). If they had added the "Kali 1" content over the course of it's development and not proceeded to adding anything before the previous addition was succesfully implemented, there wouldn't be a need for so much 'patching'.
As it is they serve a big batch of content that is filled not only with obvious, glaring bugs, but also gaming imbalances that they struggle to correct. Since their development resources are limited, many issues remain unadressed and based on CCPs past will probably remain unresolved until we have forgotten that once they worked properly.
I remember one time that they postponed a patch because testing proved more work needed to be done. What happened with that mentality? Why was this patch released with bugs that are obvious within minutes of play time? Simple things like the zoom reset every jump or the white flash. Are we seriously expected to believe CCP was not aware of these issues before release of Kali 1? and if that is the case, then how bad is their quality control? Just like every other 'money first' corporation, marketing needs came before product quality. ________________

Well I do not claim to be able to fix EVE, but as a matter of fact I have a franchising corporation running their corporate offices and their stores nationwide on a client-server database application that I created so to the questions "So you are a software enginneer, does that mean you also have expert knowlage of Networking? Database Managment? Large-scale server applications dealing with the amount of users Eve has?" I would say yes to all except the scale.
What CCP has said is that they have programmers and they have content creators and undertsandably content creators can't fix bugs. All they do is add more database items (but also fixing errors with their database entries much of which we see in the patch notes).
What I would like CCP to do is stop making any changes to their code that are aimed to add features, until the current implementation is stable and bug free (at least to the point where 2 hours of casual gaming do not result in being faced by one or more bugs).
It's not really my problem how CCP is structured as a company or how EVE is structured as an application, all I see is that for all the time I have been playing EVE (over 2 years):
Every time new features are added: - Things that were working fine suddenly break - Things that were broken and then fixed, suddenly break again - Patches are released with obvious bugs
So you will excuse me if my attitude towards CCP at the moment is f... station environments and f... new features, just fix the game you already have. ________________

Your post automatically loses any credibility when you say something like that

Redundant thread, this has been debated many times.
