I much preferred Ben, but then he really shouldn't have been part of the X-Factor anyway.
Would have preferred Ray won because he had buckets more personality and charisma than Leona, and Leona would have received a contract whether she won or not.

Now I know the excuse that "my wife watched it so I did too" isn't gonna hold much water but it's true, honestly.
Anyhow, I thought the final was filled with talentless no-hopers except for Leona, Ray and Ben and my money was on Ray but Leona was equally as good and I wish her luck. The real test starts now though, how many have had real pop careers since winning one of these things? I suppose that Gareth Gates and Will Young are the biggest claim to stardom with Girls Allowed from the band front but they're hardly setting the world alight.
Strictly Come Dancing on the other side is far superior anyhow. Emma Bunton's legs and the the presenters bewbs (no, not Bruce Forsyth, the chick) make it so much more of a worthwhile viewing experience. Plus I kinda know Matt Dawson through friend of a friend so I get to take the **** out of him via my mate.

I'm a fan of X Factor, it may be a reality TV show but it's a good one. It's not a bunch of random people thrown into a house for no reason whatsoever or yet another "I used to be a celebrity, get me back on telly!" show. For the most part the people that win these shows have spent their entire lives singing and that is what they want. If X factor gives them a shot at getting their dream then more power to 'em.
Watching the crazy people in the auditions is always fun too, even if they are horribly dragged out and poorly edited for cheap laughs. Sometimes I need some cheap laughs.
As for the final, I wasn't as happy with the result as I should have been. Both finalists totally deserved to win, both were fantastic at their chosen 3 songs and it was anyones guess who would win it when the voting opened up. But on the 'results show', a fair while before the lines were closed on the voting both contestants sang the single that would be released. Both had exactly the same song, and this song was COMPLETELY the wrong kind of song for Ray (who favours swing over just about anything and is bloody good at it too) and as a result his rendition was very so-so. The song suited Leona almost PERFECTLY, however, and she sang an amazing rendition of it. I personally believe that the voting was shifted unfairly in her favour because of that last song and Ray had no option of chosing a song that was better for him to sing.
Though as I said, both deserved to win it equally so I'm not disappointed that Leona won. I just wish that it had been based on their own chosen songs not swayed in her favour at the end.
