Well they had better hurry up, or another batch of players will leave again, we seem to be lossing them faster than getting them at the moment.

Yes, people should just take a break from EVE and come back. Put some long-term skills into training.

Yes i agree, to leave now doesnt make sense after waiting this long. Remember the famous irish singer Johnny Logan "Whats another year?"

Impatient? Jesus when was the last time REAL content was added to the game since retail huh?
People who have been playing for 5-6 months are bored pure and simple, those walking now KNOW that CCP dangle a carrot the whip it away at the last minute because they don't have the stuff ready.
They CONSTANTLY make false or at minimum inaccurate 2-3 week claims.
If we had TOTAL patence the motivation for CCP would be negligble and we would recive NO updates.
YOU, sir, are naive.

Evileric you are 100% right m8. We haven't had a patch in nearly 3 months now thats rediculous and everytime theres an interview or something they say new content is coming in 2-3 weeks. Anyone knows thinks that this isn't true is more than naive their stupid. No offence guys its not your fault you're stupid.

The trouble is, even if we do get Tech lvl 2 and 3 the same problems are going to exist. I.E. Lag when warping in to camped gates etc. We'll have good looking ships and nice new mods but the design and mechanics of the game will be the same.
I'm training lvl 5 skills atm, and will be back to see if anything has changed in a month. Hopefully it has. "http://simple.ronacorp.com/sigs/ThelainaSig.jpg" http://www.ronacorp.com |

Hey perhaps that IS what people are doing... Personally I havent seen any subsciption numbers. So people might just actually be taking that break at not unsubscribing as some people here would suggest...

Taking a break is fine... but what then are we paying for? a potentially great game? Nah I'm sorry they promiced stuff at retail and have not delivered. It's gonna be VERY hard now to claw back the playerbase away from companies with the financial backing like SOE, who can add content much faster than the small team (however very talented) of CCP.
Things do not bode well but I remain in love with the game and will HAVE to wait I suppose.

For god's sake! Why do you play? Why not play paper and pen games? The fact remains that about 30% of the planned content (I'm not talking about tech 2/3, I am taking about player stations, stock market, black market etc etc) is not in the game and they seem DAMN slow at 1) putting it in or 2) At mininum showing us a road map of when these things are gonna be added and STICKING to it.
As has been said many times in the past. CCP are a talented bunch of guys, there communication skills leaves a lot lacking (like living up to claims!)

EVE always lost more players than gained them (except for the first week or so).
Look the graphs. When I said this months ago I was crazy. Now look again. It's completely clear.
This weekend we had a new low. sub-5k players online. Everytime I see something like this I ask myself WTF they are doing. If they want to kill this game they are doing quite fine. _______________________________________________

Well Ive just gotta agree ... The game is stagnant. Ive sed it before and still have not been dissuaded from my stance mainly due to a number of factors ( My opinion ) You want to trade a) The manufacturing / Selling aspect of the game sucks.. The market is fundamentaly flawed. ie you can advertise across a whole region for no charge and no work involved. This should have been limited to constellation selling. you want to sell, you stuff in another constellation you shift it there.Or pay a high advertising tax per week. Thus introducing Haulers into the game for the purpose they were intended. b) The copying of Blueprints - Get rid or at least limit it to a license of 1.. ( for all you ship producing peeps) BPs are not commodities as such they are assets. but peeps can go out buy a 1.5k run ammo bp with no discernable out lay and either use them form own use... so no sales or compete in a market where they are only there for a quick buck. c) Due to the poor market data base tech level 2/3 products If they ever come in are going to be sold primarily on the trade channel.
2) Pvp The only option left for when you reach an advanced stage.. Having worked / mined enough for a BS you then find yourselves stuck . as to excitement .. As Manufacture is poor and mining for isk useless as you cant buy enything else except insurance. unless you want to get another BS and another etc etc etc you are Only left with the PvP option. Either as hunter or hunted.
CCp want to make mining harder by can elimination. Why? - to stop you reaching this stage of the game so soon.
So at the end of the day .. No matter where you have started you reach this final stage of PvP either sooner or later. CCp have run out of ideas / program capacity to change the linear nature of the game. and so we will continue to see the player base decrease further. For those of you who advocate the take a break theory - fine if there are just a few... bad if 20% or more leave.
Any way sermon / rantings of a derranged fool over :) Regards Al Thorr

Whoa?! Getting ride of our 27500m3 cans?
When was this brought up? Link please. No more unsecure cans and I am out. This will not prevent mass mining but just prmote multiple accounts.
You know they claim 30k player base but it is really only 10k at the most. Mainly because many players are running 2 - 5 accounts for mining.
What I am saying is doing such a thing... well it sounds like a scheme to up their profit.
Why? Because if they get rid of cans, it means that players with more then one account will be at a huge advantage. As in one account with an indy and the other mining. The industrial ship will take the place of the container. If anyone wants to mine a decent ammount of ore they will need 2 - 3 accounts.
I plan to stick with one account. And if they do this well... I am just delete my characters and leave. Because I do not like being suckered outa my money.

Would be nice to hear a dev comment on:
* current development status of new content, * how far it is from implementation, * how's it going to be realesed on TQ (ie, one big patch or several smaller?) and * whats taking so them **** long?
Dont even mention the Updates section on the web page. Its a plain joke. |

Edited by: Paddyman on 24/11/2003 14:42:02 One thing im worried about with the incoming of tech lvl 2 is the potential for balance to be throwing into choas again.
I mean TomB spent god knows how many hours having to rebalancing all the Ships/weapons from small to large, including many of the modules. This took serious time and resources and will we have to go through this all again?. Are we going to have a new ubber weapon loadout.
It is very easy to give (for exanmple)tech lvl 2 Tachyons or tech lvl sensor dampners an increase which looks modest but in practise causes them to be the only weapon to use.
And what with the new Tech 2 ships, will these be balanced, combine an unbalanced ship with unbalanced modules and we could have serious problems.

Tech 2 .. Tech 2 ... Tech 2 .... Tech 2.....
Who cares honestly? The game is not in need of a couple new frigs cruisers or BS ...and modules that are 5-10% better than their older counterpants.
When are the Combat, JIP, Pull-out-of warp, Warp in distance, Warp in load times, Orbit initiation, Scanner modules gonna come???
And once these fixes get implemented when is the story gonna lead to a war?!
New BSs and frigs and capacitor power relays II.... bah ... pathetic.

I agree about tech 2. I would like to see the market fixed, black market introduced, stock market introduced, player owned deployables some time before next century.... Please Devs at least UPDATE(hint! hint! ) us as to the status.

The major change I think Tech 2 will bring is the fact that Tech 2 items also require components to manufacture things... something which is a great improvement...
However, I have a feeling that CCP may not include ENOUGH different components to make this worthwhile.
I feel we need over 1000 different components, so that it would not be viable for corporations to manufacture ALL of the components, and allow enough diversity so that corporations could concentrate on manufacturing different types of components, such as Ship Components (Thrusters, PowerCores, Hi/Mid/Low Slot Mounts/ CPUs etc), and maybe the higher level components should have to be constructed from many low-level components..
Tho, I feel whatever they do, the game has got to the stage where there is so much ISK flying around none of it will really make a difference.
My 2 cents...

Agents and player run content will be tech 2. This is not a combat game. You all try and make it soo. This is really a market game. The aspect of the fighter is soo one deminsional its nasty. Good luck trying to kill those with tech 2 cause if you are not in empire space you aint getting tech 2. Whatch your factions and standings. --------------------------

im going to stomp my foot and have a hissy fit if i dont get content nowwwww
people i told all of you 50 times if we see any good content in a year from release we are lucky. i have not seen one online game give you anything good for a year and my first online game was tacyon the fring god that was almost ten years ago.
ive been around a long time few realy know what it takes to just keep this game from going boom. with just problums that jump up at you to attempted hacks you name it they have to deal with it.
so all we can do is play a darn good game and waite for the content that i know will come. or you can cry and say im leaving people but please if you are going just go we have seen all the bad threads we need bye.

Edited by: Camel on 24/11/2003 17:53:42 The problem is so many corps are decresing in numbers, they become less powerfull and the players what are left are geting more and more bored.
Then the content in misions and the excitment of killing npc ships is extremly low, so that didn't help at all to motivate the players to stay in the game some more time, the only what's left is th pvp.
I just hope we will see "somthing" from here to chrismas.

Edited by: Shill DeGruin on 24/11/2003 18:34:42 With so many potentially good games coming out soon, CCP no longer has the luxury of taking its time dreaming up new content.
Whilst I'm too long in the tooth to say that Horizon's will be the death of EVE, if it turns out to be even half decent, then a sizeable portion of the playerbase here will disappear, never to be seen again.
CCP has to intoduce new content very Soon (tm) ! I'm pretty sure they won't get a second bit at the cherry with this game ....

Single biggest potentila improvement to EVE? Intelligent MOBs. Fix the AIs, they're obscenely stupid, whether it's Concorde, gate rats, gate police, belt rats, convoys, agents, you name it. A well balanced MMPORG needs SOME PvE options that are entertaining. I haven't found PvP fun since I first killed 50K pirates (well, actually I was impressed with myself the first week of that being in a new Rupture and all, but maybe after the 3rd time...)
