OK so I know it's a well worn subject, but last night's ''peak'' of 4,617 is yet another new low. When's this gonna level out? is EVE gonna make it?

If you think about it, it makes sense. FF11 just came out, and alot of people are probably switching to that game as their subscriptions run out with this one.
Does it really matter though? Do you really notice your game experience drop as fewer people are in this game? I played planetside for a few months, now that was a game that you could notice the drop in player base.. the factions were becoming extremely unbalanced because of it.
In the long run, they have already said they haven't really started their marketing push for this game.. so we have to wait and see how that push goes.
And on the bright side, when they do start their push, you'll have your skills way higher then the flood of newbies.

I'm expecting the worst.
My guess is that half of the current users you see now even in the declining state may not make it in three months unless there are fundamental changes and a willingness for the devs to confront and talk about these problems with its user base, deal with the abuses going on in this game now.
Sorry to say that.
I've been in dead, dying and barely holding on games before, and EVE is starting to show many of the same symptoms before the fall. I call it the "smell of death".

In one of the interviews with the devs they have written that we are still on a trail you could say that because of that there wasent a big marketing camping when tech 2 comes they are going to have a big marketing campaign at christmas so I gues that then everything will come also things will be done against mining battleships in high security sectors and stuff like that. ______________________ I am just a crazy cow |

I notice that my corp window has no people in it, so yes, my game play is greatly affected. ---------------------------------------

Most of the people who have 'disappeared' still have active accounts. I suspect that with the introduction of both tech 2 (soon) and Tech 3 (in the new year), we will see a large surge in numbers.
This, coupled with a marketing campaign, a re-release etc etc, should help to push game numbers up to near to 10k.
And, if anyone's corp channel is empty, just move to the GEHI region and open the CFS Public channel. You get some great conversations, great people and lots of helpful hints.

SWG came out in the UK a week or so ago which is probably the main factor in the drop in "online" numbers in the last week or so ...
Doubt the accounts are cancelled though

Ohhh, I don't know Nic. Friend of mine has got SWG, built some fireworks and set them off in a town square or something - everyone stood around and clapped.
Now that deserves a "..."

Judging by what the dev's said, EVE probably needs like half of the current amount of registered users, they haven't marketed the game for real yet and the people who go check out other games often come back.
I don't see the end at all.

OMG optimism! Isn't that a bannable offense on these forums, or something? ------------------------------------------- "My main griveance with the Caldari state was that once I had finished my work for them, they wanted me dead."
