I think that modules got a skill req problem
what is that problem? it need a level 5 rank 3 skill
over the tech 1, it's only a 6% boost and for most people it doesn't worth losing 15-20 days of training
check the stock in every region on market and you will see what I mean

At least its not a rank 5/6 skill. I personally don't regret spending those 15 days on shield management 5(i've spent my training time on far worse before )

if you are shield tanking, you should be looking at tarining it to 5 anyway, along with the skill that ups your regen by 5% per level.

Considering the fact that when mounting 2 Invulnerability Field II's, the second module is effectively a 34.77% amplification to boost, I'd call the training time to shield management 5 well worth the time. It was already a must have for any dedicated shield tanker, so it's not like the 5 days I burned training Survey 5 for Kali's release J.A.F.O.

You can always buy faction one ... -------- The BoB model is bad for business. Incidently the BoB model is more suited for a game such as WoW where as the ASCN model more suited for Eve.

Its a 20% boost, the same as most t2 stuff.

I dislike that level 5 is needed though, but thats just me. I think most modules need level 4 of the appropriate skill to work. Oh well, its on the list after Advanced Weapons Upgrade level 3 (need to get weapons upgrade level 5 first ).

yeah. In the meantime make it so all t2 weapon skills only require level 4 prereqs. Might as well make it so t2 ships only require level 4 in their respective prereqs too.
You want the sexy t2, be prepared to train for it.

I agree with that for t2 weapons and ships, but for a support module, the SBA II is simply out of line with the others - t2 damage mods or t2 shield hardners for instance. In any case it's certainly worth the training. Just inconsistent.

TBH, more lv5s should be needed to shieldytank a ship effectively (byt that I mean to fit all t2). So I agree with the posters answering here that training lv5 in management is a must anyway (and well should be, just like both cap skills).
It is so easy to get a t2 shieldtank it's funny, alongside shorter t2 launcher training times, this makes ships like the raven not overpowered (not getting into this dispute) but too fast to train for, making the learning curve for the pilots themselves much steeper.
My god - I even saw a few CNRs with malkuth heavy missile bays, for god's sake, and a full t2 tank to that :P

It's fine EVE Needs longer skilltrains for T2 gear, and if it gets dropped to lvl 4 req the price will sky rocket. Then you'll come on here and whine about how expensive they are for 'only' 6% boost.

You have got to be kidding about xl t2 shield boosters. They are a mere 2.2 mil! They used for 14 mil, and are worth far more than 4 mil. I don't even sell mine anymore because it no worth the time accumulating the components when someone keep undercutting with a huge order by 0.01 isk and I usuall y have betetr thigns to do with the time involved to monitor the market.
But - it'll either go up, or go way down. I plan on giving them away for cost, and giving the bpc's away unless the other sellers get them to a more reasonable price. Not joking. Whenever I get around to see who the other sellers are and I stock a few hundred and copy a couple thousand bpc runs - I'll give them a warning before I flood the market with cost booster or free bpcs.

I happily trained it to Level 5.
And I'm glad I did, as it gave me an extra 5% HP boost.
The Level 5 skill requirement also means that SBA II's are incredibly cheap for such a great Tech II module.
In fact, its my favourite Tech II module in eve.

No.. he's whining because there is little demand for the T2 SBA vs. the supply and he owns a T2 SBA BPO. He is trying to get CCP to change it so demand goes up and he can sit on a nice little isk printer and win EVE.

Command Ships is a rank 8 that has as primary atribute Willpower. :) Then there is Recon Ships which is a rank 6 and is almost a must for level 5 if you want to fly them well - again a willpower primary skill. I won't even mention the Large Rail/Blaster/Autocannon/Artillery/Pulse/Beam Specializations which are also rank 8 with Perception as primary atribute. --------------------------------------------------

I dont think the idea is for him to win eve. More isk for him would be great (who wouldnt like more isk?). The truth of the matter is sad however, that tech1's can often make more profit than the tech2 variants. I have been thinking about skill req's lately and to be honest I dont like the way it's level V for any tech2 module (the reason I dont like it, is because it means we'll have new skills for tech 3, with those going to level V for tech 4). My peronsal views on skills put to the side, it is horrible to have t2 prints that make little to no isk. I have roughly 21 t2 prints that have such horrible profits that I dont produce for market. There is a upside to items with horrible profit, and that's the fact that t2 bpo's often come around and it can be much easier to start up a monopoly.
The skill requirements arent that bad, the only real problem is that other than the SBA II module, there's no real reason to train that skill so it does feel like wasted time.
I wouldnt mind seeing all t1 items get bonus's from their associated skills (base figgures go down, t1 skill brings it up in a non-linear fashion so leve3 of skill = close to t1 value, and level4 = spot on, level 5 = slightly more..
Anywho.. along with the SBA beef up Basilisk, Large cap bat II, t2Ammo, Small Plates, ECW II..

Shield conpensation skills aren't worth training, but armor compensation skills are. How does 4 rank 2 skills to lvl 5 compare to your shield managment 5?
Besides, shield tanking is better in almost every aspect. ------------------------------------------ Every ship has a base 60-70% resist against the primary damage type of the race that is the least able to vary it's damage types. |

You want shield management to 5 on any serious character that you plan on keeping for a year or more...same goes for cap management. It will make your life quite a bit easier.
IMO, cap/shield management V, mechanic & hull upgrades V fall in the same category..must-have if you want that small edge..

Check the EANM II. that requires a rank 3 skill to lvl 5. So for a tanking module its exactly in-line. ---------------------------------------------------

I agree with what your saying 100%, there should be allot more t2 modules with lvl5 requirements, its too easy to fit a lvl5 tank. Or do we want to just make it level 1 for everything and give the newbies a fully t2 fitted shield tanking battleship upon creation of character? Hrm don't think so.
Make it harder for everything else, not make the SBAII easier.
