Edited by: Syllke Aronstein on 16/02/2007 22:06:08 2 Mobile Labs available in 0.5 Space at a POS, please contact me ingame to arrange a contract. I have tried to make them appear on the public database but the system is broken. There are people out there like me trying to help, while making ourselves a profit, just waiting for CCP to fix the issue.

not a bug. it is to prevent people from putting up long "holding" jobs to save slots for themselves.
Indeed - It has also resulted in a new form of Greifing - Slot Greifers. Just overload slots again and again and cancel, and you can shutdown whole regions for months.
Of course, no reputable research company would do this.... --

To do remote research:
First, your BPO must be in the same system as the lab you want to research at. Second, you must have the correct roles to access the POS labs. This is usually Factory Manager and Rent Lab Slot. Third, you must be in range. Scientific Networking allows you to set up and manipulate BPO research from farther away but the raw materials (BPOs and labs) still have to be in the same place.
Then go to the Science and Industry tab. If you left the BPOs in your personal hanger they will be in the 'Blueprints' tab. If the BPOs are in a corp hanger they will be under 'Corp Blueprints'. Choose the correct station and choose which BPO you want to work with.
Then choose a research slot, how many levels you want to research it and press the 'Go' button. Wait awhile and a researched BPO will get spit out after an amount of time.

Okey so now i think i know what im doing wrong i then need to place the bpo`s in the station in the same system as the POS are in, coz now the bpo`s are located at the POS....!!!!! hhmmm im gonna try and see if that works

Slot griefing????
Either 1) its simply the run on revelations BPOs for research or inventions for ME time or 2) someone out there has a really twisted sense of cornering the researched ME level of BPOs and is willing to do very stupid things to protect it.
I would tend to believe the first rather than the second.
Prior to revelations (RMR), the waiting times were anything from NOW to 15days+. So seeing 25+days now given the new BPOs is not surprising.
The current system is FAR better than the previous system when a person could litterly tie up a slot indefinitely was MUCH MUCH worse (had seen slots SELLING for 10mil a piece).
Finally the slots are available they just have line ups. Thats what PENDING means.
Is this your real rant?

I don't know where all you people were researching pre RMR, but I had no trouble finding multiple stations throughout major highsec regions where less than half the labs had been rented out. I had no problems finding and securing my own lab to do a little reseach instantly.
Now it's actually much harder, though part of the problem is probably that the devs removed 60% of the ME slots (20 down from 50).
Honestly, they should have made it 30/10/10 for ME/PE/CP slots rather than 20/20/10. I mean, when was the last time you saw the PE slots filled to capacity on a station?

I do not know which sectors are you talking about, but i have checked 4 sectors around myself, & found all of Material Researchlabs BUSY for a 20 days in the least. I`ll make a trip to some central sector now. But i think that is abnormal, to search for a lab in 20 jumps from your current location.
If we're alone in the universe, it's an awful waste of space. |

I was discussing PRE-change, not POST, right now you're lucky if you can find anything with less than a 20 day wait in backwater locations.
Before the lab change, labs were not hard to find. Each station with labs had 50 lab slots for rental. An individual would rent one, and could do any form of research in their lab. This effectively meant you could have 50 ME/PE/CP slots. The only downside is you could litterally have 1 corp lock down all the labs in a system/area due to the fact there was no queue, as long as you paid rent on time, you kept the lab.
Post change, we have this. Each station still has 50 slots, but it's restricted to a 20/20/10 ME/PE/CP, so you can only ever have a max of 20 MEs, 20 PEs and 10 copying operations happenning in a given station. Part of the ME scarcity is undoubtly due to the fact that 60% (30 slots) are no longer eligable for ME research.
A more practicle solution to the problem in the absence of dynamically adjusting slots would have been to have a 30/10/10 split. This adds 10 more ME slots per station giving 50% more slots than currently available, while maintaining the low number of copy slots (which I believe was intentional) and reducing the PE slots (which hardly anyone uses anyhow).

darn and i got me 2 accounts to make one a industrialist :( and all i can do is mining. cant research my bpo's cause i cant find free slots.
and i guess it will not be very profitable for me to let one of you older players research it for me, cause i just have some noob bpo's :(
and somehow im really not interested in some copys, i wanted to produce to make some nice profit.
what would it cost to rent a slot on a mobile lab?

dude, pre RMR when they ADDED more slots it was retarded finding a lab slot. If you look around you will still find anchored cans advertizing ppl selling lab slots.
the current system is much better as it allows everyone a ***** << edit here this is funny the word c.r.a.ck. is a bad word apparently>> at a lab slot. down side is you have to wait now as they are all booked up usually. Well, I dunno bout you, but when all you people preRMR were being extorted 10 mil for a lab slot, I was quite happy in Amarr Space sitting in a station that only had maybe 10 renters, and there was another station right across from it that maybe had 20 people in it, that was 70 free lab slots in a highsec system. Sure, it was maybe 3 or 4 jumps off the main road, but it's not like it was hard to find a lab at the time if you were willing to take a couple of jumps off major systems and hubs.
The new system might be "better", but it stil went from 50-54 slots per station available for ME to a flat 20. It really should have been 30/10/10 since no one uses the PE labs and they're always sitting empty.

You have to look around. Currently I use a lab in 0.5 space that generally has about a 6 day wait for me research. Before the recent expansion, the next available was usually like 5 hours. Seeing as how bad it is in most other places, I apologize but I won't name the system. However, if you take the time to look, no doubt there are better ones out there.
But yes, I agree, the whole research thing, while better than the old way where people could rent the slots out forever, has problems.
