The Story:
Monday morning around 05:00 Gusta reported scanning out a hostile(Fuzzy Nuts) Thanatos class carrier in K-QWHE. At the time several Revelations Members were taking care of logistics that needed to be done and not expecting the fight were not able to respond immediatly. The Thanatos docked up and for a few minutes the fight was off.
After only a short bit the Thanatos undocked and warped to the same safespot it had been at only a few minutes before. The logistics crew had docked and all 13 active Shroud of Darkness members who were online were ready for action. Part of the gang was already near by the Thanatos while the majority formed up in Litom to head out for the kill. NightHawk took the gang out and headed for YKE4-3 to wait for orders to jump in.
As usual the SOD pilots followed orders and stayed on task and reached the target site within minutes of recieving orders to head out. As the gang reached YKE4-3 NightHawk handed command to Sylia for tactical target relay(aka, Target Calling). At Sylia's orders the gang jumped into K-QWHE the frigates entered the system and within 20-30 seconds the carrier was scrambled. The larger ships arrived seconds later and began putting major damage into the Thanatos whose shields stripped away instantly.
Then the real fun began.
As the Thanatos hit armor more targets warped in. Swapping primaries around to keep the smaller targets off the battleships the SOD pilots showed amazing orginization and ability keeping their ships alive while target after target was tangoed. Sylia's target calling, Phuze's ability to keep enamy scramblers off of friendly battleships using her Jamming drones, Haffrage and Cooke using tracking disruption to keep the snipers at bay, and all the other pilots ability to stay on target and kill the primary made for one hell of a fight.
As the Thanatos reached half armor SOD got yet another suprise. Tyrel corp had been called by their friends to come help out and warped in several ships in order to provide support.
Moving target to target SOD kept the hostiles, who came in like NPC's in a deadspace complex, from causing serious damage. Even as enemy ships would go down their pilots would dock up, grab another ship and come back out for another round.
Finally, when the Thanatos was was down to structure, Sylia called it, "All damage on the Thanatos, take that F***er down." Within 60 seconds the Thanatos was dead. By this point the enemy gang had been able to regroup and SOD pilots were going down.
Even LV had shown up, ever so late, to try and halt SOD's assault. At the end the order to warp out and dock up was given as SOD was ridiculously outnumbered. SOD did not hold the field at the end, but the victory was phenomenal none the less.

The Facts:
At least 10+ times the Thanatos was reprimaried. NOS was kept on the thantos even as other targets were primaried to keep it's tank from repping it back up to normal. Not until the Thanatos was into structure did SOD lose a ship that was larger than a frigate.
SOD lost 7 ships/capsules while the Fuzzy Nuts/Tyrel/LV lost around 24 ships including: Huginn, Thanatos, Claw, Rifter, Claw, Caracal, Hound, Stabber, Claw, Stilletto, Kestrel, Caracal, Dominix, Abaddon, Incursus, Lachesis, Rokh, Rupture, Rifter, Tempest, Maelstrom, Hurricane.
The fight itself lasted approximately 45 minutes to an hour. The final SOD ships warped out EXACTLY as LV jumped in a mothership and a dread to 'save' the day.
Most of our ships that had ammo were completly out or almost out of ammo by the end of the fight. Phuze had to switch T2 crystals because several went out. Most ships had few or no drones left by the end of the fight due to warping out and drones dieing.
The Farewell:
To my fellow corp and alliance mates: If we ever needed proof that we are a force to be reconed with in all of EVE, we have it now.
To Fuzzy Nuts/Tyrrel/LV: Great fight guys. To lose a ship and come back in another takes amazing courage. you have our respect for this fight and we look foward to many more fights with you.
To the reader: i apologize for my inabilities at Spelling/Grammar. i hope you have enjoyed the story as much as we enjoyed the fight (though i doubt its possible). Fly safe out there.

Definitely the best fight I've had on EVE Online in quite a while. Hats off to Fuzzy Nuts for giving us a good fight. Fight lasted over 30 minutes.

This last 24 hours has been nuts, first the fights with LV in litom and now this, just awesome. Props to fuzzy nuts for bringing it. Wow. 
As for the Valkyrie I I was on the carrier killmail with, just my damn luck that I lose a Berserker II, scoop an uncontrolled Valk I cos it was the closest and it shows up on the mail

Had to warp out like 8 times, between the 10 fighters taking me to 16% structure the first time and a muninn that got off on shooting me more than the rest of his alliance got off on dying

Ya it was definitely the highlight of my week. Enyo was a joke, Ishkur lost made me sad cus I got jumped trying to scoop some drones on the battlefield so I could rejoin the fight. Was heading back in a Jag and was 1 jump out when I heard that the Thanatos went down.

Most impressive. I remember IAC almost killed that carrier, but it somehow warped away in 1/2 armor. This was in RMR though, before the stab nerf.

I'm not one to try and make big statements, but to be completely honest I believe you are Confusing "gloating" with a group of PvP'rs being Enthusiastic about getting a fight in a now very bloated, blobbed style of gameplay. Just my 2c's...

Holy **** mate. Most of you want a "War story" Forum section, but if all its gonna cause is a flame war then why would CCP ever do it? How about you do us all a favor and say "Nice kill, yeah we messed up but we will get you next time you crazy kids!".
I would definitly have to agree with Seleene and hope and pray that CCP make a dedicated Forum for this kind of thing. They are fun to read and that is the point of the OP. Trust me their ego's are so huge that they don't need to pat themselves on the back <3

not everyone gets to be part of these crazy war antics, with such good fights. I for one and i know others do, enjoy reading these war stories, whether about my corp/alliance, an alliance i like, or an alliance i despise. Its stories like this that encourage new players to go out to 0.0, to join bigger alliances and attempt to gain the fun others had.

A fun read, written well and makes your remember you're own great fights and smile. A good example of why like many others I think there should be a 'War Report' forum section. Untill then everyone please keep posting these great stories (preferably with shiny fraps videos soon after!). Its not the kill, its the story.

Nice to read, story was well written. The new war story forum will no doubt bring more n more people out to writing, which can only be a good thing.
As for the flames, yes a carrier kill is nothing in this day n age, but the guys involved felt justified and excited abut the hour long abttle they had just taken part in, the disrespectful posts on here, mainly I note from those who "lost" the battle, are a pretty poor show.
And those IAC pilots in here, get into bloody empire so we can hunt you :P xx

i've heard about this fight elsewhere and it sounds pretty swish
v nice write-up and kudos to SOD for making use of a variety of ships to fill different roles (tracking disruption etc) and pulling it off and kudos to the Fuzzy nuts and co. for not giving up. 
edit: as for all the guys who are flaming this thread, i dont think this is a gloating thread, its a report on a fight that a lot of people seemed to enjoy and a lot of people are talking about.

Having been in fights where my side was more than a bit outgunned and outnumbered, yet managing to inflict more than we took in damage, I can appreciate how good that must have felt for you guys ;) Cheers!

On behalf of Fuzzy Nut Attack Squirrels I will say it was a good fight. I myself lost a Rokh, Maelstrom, Caracal, and Logistics Ship for the effort of saving my fellow NUT. I freely post what I lost as I post them on the NUTS Killboard. http://kb.eve-nuts.com
Good show for all and much thanks to LV for coming in to assist. It was a tremendous response given the circumstances.
The error we made is allowing one hostile in local not to alert us and have us pull back. Had we done that I believe we would have not lost the carrier. But it was indeed fun. The local smack however was very un-professional and not something that I typically have much respect for. I am all game for admitting a GF but not for local banter made by some of your pilots in gang. I know as a whole that many of SOD provide honorable and respectful fights and I look forward to additional fun times.

Speaking as someone who lost 3 ships in the fight (incurses, caracal, and fully t2 fitted drake, almost lost a scorp as well but all your tacklers were either dead or focused on the carrier at that point ) I will say good fight.
You guys definitely had the organizational lead on us. Unfortunately we were in full "reactive" mode which gave us the disadvantage.
I'm sure I can speak for most NUTS when I say we look forward to future encounters with you, a lot

Yes, it was a good fight. Sorry IAC, these guys took on the same fit you did. Time to assemble my backup Thanatos I guess. Maybe I shoulda had a nos instead of one the logistics modules I had.
Kudos to the author, good write up.
Off to tend my factories. This pvp stuff is for the birds... ;)

Sounds like good fun. And for the people whingeing about "it being only a carrier", so what if it was a prolonged and even fight. Makes for a good story and there's never too many of those. Always welcome if those can be kept flame free.
Time to revive Seleene & Eddz (I think?) initiative of a forum for those battle reports & AARs?

Oh well, I simply figure that if you can respectfully say GF after a battle. Then that is a pilot that I would love to fight again or even fly beside. Those that smacked in local though afterwards showed bad form. Really I expected better. I am not all excusing or saying that I have not been guilty at a time or two or another NUT pilot. But we do try to keep it a min.
It was a good fight and no smack was needed in local.

First, let me say that it was a great fight. I had a lot of fun until it was over and you guys started smacking in local.
SoD, you're not fooling us...Trying to take the moral high ground on the forums by ACTING professional. I have all the chat logs and can post them. Smacking in local after a great fight ruined what fun I was having. And smacking after you ran away and docked shows what kind of players you really are.

Having fought the squirrels some a little while ago they are entertainingly hopeless at pvp and they do attempt to smack despite this, this is still a nice kill though. gj guys :)

Whether they are like that in private has nothing to do with whether it's smack. I say lots of things in private channels that I'd never put in local. Call it "smack" or whatever you want...it's offensive and it's bad form. Saying offensive things in local after winning a fight counts as "smack" in my book.
Looking back on the logs it looks like only one person did most (though by no means all) of the smacking. He's on my block list now so I don't have to read about his erection anymore. Good job ruining a good fight, Haffrage.

First of all we will not pay for NAPS. No sense in that... From what I stated there I don't see how you state that as proof.
Secondly we are not afraid of a fight. Thus the reason I will not pay for a NAP.
and on a third and final note. Eternal Rangers of Terror do not speak for nor do they represent NUTS. Yes they are positive to us. But they are not part of NUTS alliance.
Before this thread gets off topic. Lets recap.
You guys did a good job, and it was a good fight. In this battle NUTS suffered more losses then SOD. Congrats and salute. It was a good fight and leave it at that.

Well, I can't control what others say. And I don't condone what they said. Within my alliance I make every attempt for people to be respectful in battle. Those that I hear of not doing so are talked with.
Again it was a good fight, I am personally not trying to stirr up a flame thread here. If you ask your guys I think there is a couple that will even say that I have convod them personally on previous engagements with NUTS commending them on good fights.
I am really failing to see what you are trying to accomplish my associating the words of a different alliances member with NUTS. But oh well, not everything can have an answer.

Damn good fight.. I was there on my alt (Jia Mei) wish I had been there with a BS but damn that was fun. I was cursing myself a 100 times for not being there with my main.. but hats off to the SODS guys. That was very well done. We lost a ton of ships mostly in the effort to stall the party till the LV guys got in .. seconds to late.. soooo close.. those are the fights you remember. You throw all you got into it.. and you may lose but it was fun... If it had been an average corp attacking the carrier we would have done better. It shows the caliber of the attacking enemy fleet to take down that many ships...and the carrier and lose so little. Albet we were never able to get the numbers to do anything but throw ships in the frey to be lost. Got us with our pants down. Awesome work.. was an honor to fight in that battle.
Thanks to the LV guys for bringing the reinforcements their response time was awesome.. just.. to far to travel and not enough time.

when we went to curse for a little holiday and moved into ES (where nuts had their main base in curse) they first offered us a NAP, then begged for one,
then bragged about how they where driving us out of ES.
then pulled their pos down, got it stolen in the process and ran away to a different system

OMG. Get your facts straight. Lets see. When you came to ES I convod up your diplo to see where you guys stand in the south. Even brought in Lemofo from IPOD. Since from what I gathered you were there shooting TCF. You guys clearly were on neutral grounds and or were there for RA.
Also on the topic of the pos. Good job you ganked the pos. You waited patiently and ganked the hauler. If you might have noticed nuts have not really been present in ES-U for a while.
