hello,
i want to be a "dedicated" prober flying with my pvp group. is 4/4/4/4 in the astrometrics and astrometrics probe refinement skills adequate for pvp work?
i wonder this since i want to have this ability, yet i am working toward other goals like my recon ships and my t2 weapons. but i still want to be able to have good probing abilities for when my groups normal cov ops pilot can not make it.
thanks~

Yes, it will suffice in 95% of the time.
Astrometrics 5 is really nice to have, because it will allow you to use all probes, including the deep space observators.
The latter Probe can be used to make deep safespots for your friends and can pretty much bust any safespot you want.
So if I had to pick one skill to get to 5 it would be astrometrics. :) -

With the recent covert op bonus change-up you can easily fit a recon probe launcher on a Covert ops frig while keeping other PVP oriented modules "fitted and online".
You'll need Recon 5 to make any good use of probes on Recon ships tho otherwise you'll have fun offlining 80% of your setup just to use it..
CCP has made probing so easy that anyone with a probe launcher can bust out safespots, don't worry. Before at least you had to triangulate, now it's 1 probe, 1 click, bang.
You'll do fine.

as long as your in a cov ops with a recon launcher, you should be fine. ---------------------------------

ok, thanks. i will perhaps train the astrometrics to 5 when i am done with t2 weapons and cap and tanking skills.
i agree, it seems that probing has been made too easy and too chance based.

u cant just probin from anywhere....first u need to get in range with a long range probe...then ure close enough..u can use those accurate close snoops probes.. ucan see ppl on ure scanner and still not be able to probe em...with snoops... I think u can scan with rue ship scaner to 14au around... and the snoops cover 5 au... Im not e very experinced prober....just started with it for a feew days ago....buts its handy..alrdy busted some semi afk SS`ed bs with it.
a grid is how far u can see before things deapear I think. At least doomweapon hit the entire grid.....bah Im tried :p someone else can try to clean up my mess..
