Hi,
I'm pretty new to this game and couldn't find an awnser. Is there any way to lock a target without the target being notified about this? It would be nice to be able to scan a target without the target getting suspicious.

I might add that I find it hilarious that they use "advanced acoustical and visual targeting", acoustical technology in the vacuum of space.

If you must get technical, acoustics in space does work, at least under science fiction. Acoustics basically mean vibration from the medium, it does not specific which medium, so a possible explanation would be detecting the vibrations in subspace? maybe the tiniest vibration from the few hydrogen particles in "vacuum"? it could still work

Technically with good enough sensors you could probably lock them using the disruption of the solar wind they cause.
Still, I wish they'd change the item description to read something more like "Uses an extensive antenna network to allow target lock from energy emissions from a ships engine, weapon and life-support systems"

Didn't you get the memo ? EVE is not in space, it's inside galactic nebula soup or something !
I mean, just look at the bacgkrounds, and how ships handle, and you'll know what I mean.
That being said, we're not spaceship captains, we're actually submarine captains.
