EVE-Online vs Boredom
Hello my name is Jonas aka C4w3 have been playing Eve since it began and have enjoyed everyday of it.
Im suffering from diabetes and chronic kidney failure which forces me to attend the hospital on a weekly basis. About a year ago the some of the young kids saw me playing Eve on my laptop and were intrigued by it.
So as time went on I introduced a few of them to EVE, just getting most of them the hang of it and didn't think much of it.
And since we all don't meet at the same time i found it awesome that when using one of the computers to see an updated version of eve i started to investigate the matter ;D and what did i see the
kids i taught now started to play with other kids when attending when i weren't there.
I posted a flyer saying join in on the fun and beat the boredom hospitals takes on young and old.
We now have around 15-20 active kids playing EVE at the age between 14-20 in all branches pvp pve mining trade etc.
And i'm now starting to gather them all in one spot for some fun during the boring and painful weeks at the hospital.
Our goal: To provide a break and to drift away in our pixelspace game instead of feeling sad and being in pain.
What we need help with: Donations, ships, mods, and in general everything that makes their eve life a bit better.
At a later date a dream of a alliance and a area to call home
Donations and help ingame should be to M1sty.

Good for you, OP! This is a great endeavor!
Are the kids usually all playing at the same time, or different times? How possible would it be to organize an event like a sightseeing expedition and Treasure Hunt that includes most / all of you? Or would it be better to organize something that more easily accommodated varying play times?
Also, do you guys use comms? Could your group connect to our Mumble server?

Sounds good...I have also begun dropping spacecaches (anchored cans with trinkets and sometimes awesome goodies in them) all over New Eden as prep for promoting this as a fun in-game "pastime". I've started a blog which is woefully undeveloped as yet but there's some info here. I'm sure I could rally a bunch of Signaleers to anchor a ton of such cans especially for your group and give you details so you could rally them to go out and find them as and when they were feeling up to that.

To follow up on what the boss said: We are running PvE fleets on a semi-regular basis. On of these is called Vulfpeck and is aimed at running C5 combat sites in cheap T1 dessies. We are pretty successful with it and I am sure we could get a team together who'd be happy to show your group how to do it. It's not the most isk efficient thing you can do but it's fun to know that you are doing something in a 10-15mil ship where others need a 800+ mil ship to do the same. |

Small update
After this post the number of people asking and comming up with ideas etc is truly amazing and thats why EVE is EVE, i will do a weekly update with short storys from me and my "gang".
