Imagine this: A good success on salvaging a drone body would bring the sucker in mostly intact. With some tinkering in the workshop and reprogramming, you can bring the drone back to life and pop it into your drone bay!
I am thinking that when a drone body drops, some might drop a salvageable body that would allow you to create a drone that would be better than a normal one akin to named modules.
This way, you can have some nice, rare drones in your bay and they don't all have to be alike. There are all sorts of named alternatives for everything else, why not drones which are used a lot and are easy to lose?
Alternately, rigging skills to rig stuff onto drones but that might be too complicated for what the game gets out of it.

Oh come on, there is really no need for smack in this part of the forum.
On topic:
Named drones would be interesting. As you said there are named (faction) ships, launchers, turrets, EM modules, etc. and even ammo, so why not.
Performance-wise they should be somewhere between T1 and T2 drones.
I'm not sure about the way of obtaining them though. Perhaps finding them as loot, just like you can find standard drones, would be better.
Of course that depends on whether you want variants of rogue drones or simply variants of the current combat drones.

Yes, I was thinking on the same level of power as named vs. T1/T2 and I just thought the idea of 'taming' rogue drones would be pretty cool. Constellations and regions of drones and none for me? *sniff*
