I've been reading these forums since I came to eve, and I don't think I have ever seen this section of the forums so concentrated with so many thread's about BOB...thread's about ASCN, blah blah blah....it's like watching 24 hours of rerun TV, it start's rotting your brain where you sit there and actually talk along with the actor's....and that's no fun at all.
So I thought I'd toss up another infamous Combat Blog like I did with our campaign in fountian.
SOOO like I said in the last Blog, Keep it respectful, no smack, if your not up here, stay out of this thread, and fer god sakes, leave the alt's out...mmmkay? kkthx
Let the good times roll...

Covered with NAPs...
Nuke it from orbit, to be honest. We need another Great Northern War

There is nothing in this thread.
All combat is in the south. We have nothing of importance to discuss.

Edited by: Caldess on 18/12/2006 17:53:05 Captain's Blog, stardate ... um ... today.
My corpmates continue to rant about gigantic space squids. I fear that their time away from the mining lasers has started to affect some of them ... or perhaps the time they spent with Backdoor Bandit. I fear it is only a matter of time until they become completely incomprehensible.
Morale continues to suffer as our supply of exotic dancers is nearly depleted; Some of the corpmates have taken to unmentionable acts of perversion with corpses collected from space ... and one of them continues to insist on consuming them. Luckily this has been contained, for the moment, to the deceased. I'm not sure how I'd feel if I awoke one night to feel Swindon nibbling on me.
My own morale has received a boost today as I received my robe and wizard's hat via courier this morning. I am looking forward to wearing them into combat. It will be nice to wear clothing again. --------------

besides Outbreak and now possibly fate I dont think there is any larger groups in the north that are not in the belt of naps stretching from Rise next to fountain and all the way down to whoever is in bwf tbh. Worst par was that in that goonblog, it seemed like D2 was about to nap RA and goons aswell.
Yeah, so much for all the stuff happening in the north

bah
Pure Blind is crawling with Triumverate and a multitude of other things to shoot at.
There are a lot of NAPs, yes, but there is still plenty to shoot and not very far away.
If the RAGoon NAP thing actually happened, though, I'd probably reset standing and just start shooting everyone. We will NEVER have goons set +ve.

We are not napped with anyone, but we are not "large" either. We're pretty much "Jokers"-size, and happy about it.
Triumvirate, Kemono and a few other entities are also notable trouble-makers in the area.
Oh and I also noticed a bit of tension between various alliances in the area, sometimes culminating in not-so-friendly fire incidents.

well, thats comforting atleast, but still...
Looking at the alliance map, the northern regions have been quiet for way too long. If you disregard Pure Blind wich will forever be a free for all, what has really happened up there lately?
Not a single station changing hands, no huge fleets throwing itself at eachother. You need some less competent diplomats tbh

Make it an Erebus! Only 3 titans so far and I'm already tired of the Avatar :(
Anyway UNA and F-E were harassing EU for a bit until they moved out of the BWF area. Smash & Roadkill also up there mixing things up with CDC and PURE. Outbreak and Fate. seem to be the bulk of the activity. Most of the entities up there are blue with one another so the only combat they get is when their guys get bored and visit us rednecks in the Saawwth. ____________________________ my sig |

Some fights of note from an Outbreak point of view.
Freelancer alliance - System: AGG. They had the system bubbled expecting attack from Triumvirate (sp) I believe. We saw them forming up, and decided to pay a visit. They had roughly 70+ on gate, including heavy carrier support, with bubbles. We had 22 BS and 5 x support. Jumped in, and our teamspeak crashed lol. Having experience was good, most guys managed to mwd out the bubble and form up at safespot. FLA did well and took down a good number of our BS while we regrouped.
After the initial regroup, we then conducted sniper runs and continued for 2 x hours without further BS loss inflicting heavy damage upon the FLA camp.
Kudos to them for making the evening so enjoyable for all involved, and no smack.
Pentagram. System: VDD. Pentagram chasing Dave in his vindicator, we form up to assist. Heavily outnumbered, engage at gate. Close, tight fighting to get the blood rushing.
Various alliances. System: M-o Of note our engagement against Morhus Mihi, where we killed 3 x carriers and around 12 BS for loss of around 4-5 BS. Great props to RAWR for bringing cards to the table. 2 x fleets starting around 15k away from each other and just banging the balls out of each other, great stuff.
Lots of other great engagements in M-O against pretty much half the north too :)
Alliances: Kith of Venal + whoever they called for help (d2, rawr, modus, tre). System: 6nj Outbreak "acquired" a POS from our raiding, and so thought yeah, what the hell, lets put it there. It attracted quite a lot of interest to say the least. Lots of fleet battles. in 1 where we lost the POS we had acquired and killed a D2 dreadnaught. And since then more and more good fights. Sunday we were outnumbered around 5:1 at various points. Some really good stuff, and respect to the D2 FC and cov ops for bringing the fight late in the day when numbers even'd up. Damn us not having a dictor when our fleet warped in point blank range to you heh. Classic moment came when a Kith pilot smacked us in local, and promptly was popped 2 minutes later after becoming primary for our next sniping run. Revenge was sweet ^^
Alliances: Razor, D2, Morhus Mihi. System: oe-4. Razor's outpost egg was planted, and due to some sort of fuelling problem, the egg was up for the day. We formed a BS gang and went full speed, and called in the help of the French (Tau Ceti) as we expected the blob to come assist Razor. They bubbled gate, we went in and cleaned up the initial defence. Then Razor's allies to assist and promptly cleaned us up in return! Was a great night. Egg survived, but despite that I went home happy.
Alliances: Morhus Mihi, Razor. Systems: H-W, D7-, IMK Rawr and rzr's station systems, lots of good fights, going both ways.
Alliances: Northeners. System: Anywhere f1-f8 coming soon to you :)
Respect to the North. You may not get the publicity of the south, but in most cases your good fun. Just ensure your own pilots dont logoffski, smack and remind them to post lossmails :)
All that aside though, its good knowing ya =) ___________________________________

It is indeed a bit boring in the north. Outbreak is fun sometimes tho. The odd kemono pirate comes by too. And past week Ive seen an estonian group doing some skirmish near m-o. Oh and some burn eden campers too that dont take much risks. A russian corporation had set up raiding the new 10/10 tribute complex as well, darn leeches. Killed their carrier last saturday. For the rest theres a bunch of macro ratters in various systems.
not very exciting times in the north atm. Your signature is too large. Please see the Forum Rules for the limits - Serathu ([email protected])

Edited by: Naim Obeji on 18/12/2006 21:44:29 I always kind of chuckle when I see all these posts of people complaining (or sometimes even insulting) the North for all of its friendships--- as if having friends and fighting on someone elses turf is somehow a bad thing. That notwithstanding, the North is anything but peaceful. The new regions have brought all sorts of interesting visitors to the area and fights along with them.
I've lived in Tribute for about 5 months now and rarely a day goes by without a fairly good-sized skirmish or two (or three...you get the idea) and we even have fleet battles and POS wars up here. Regularly.
We've fought a tough war against a dogged foe in Tau Ceti Federation and their friends. That went about six weeks...maybe a bit more. Combat every day. Capital ship losses on both sides.
Outbreak...Kemono...Burn Eden...The Establishment, just to name a few very dangerous groups...all frequent cullers of The Herd in this area. BoB has been through a couple of time for quick jaunts. ASCN somehow finds time and available forces to send people through here. Beagle Corp was active an always a good opponent. Process of Elimination provided plenty of entertainment before they faded. We've skirmished with Euphoria Unleased. There's all manner of little pirate bands that operate in the North...exacting their tolls and taking retribution from us.
The North is anything but dead, to be honest.
The most fun (at least in my view) has come from Outbreak during their extended stay in lo-sec Lonetrek and in Venal. They spend a good portion of their time in Tribute and we face them any time we're ready...and sometimes when we think we're ready but find out we're not!
The fights are always good...the smack is usually non-existant, or at least good-natured. I never cease to be amazing at how completely a good opponent can make you pay dearly for even the slightest misstep or delay in execution of your own plan. Lazyness kills, too, of course.
There are a few people in Outbreak whose killmails I dearly want to have (know them from way back in Fountain Alliance days)...just haven't managed the task. I'm always saying on TS "And remember (censored) is primary and (censored) is secondary." I guess it would help if I took command of more fleets, then I'd get to actually target call...heheh.
Kemono is fun, too...but darned near untouchable without specific setups. They make things go very fast...and other things die very fast. Very honorable guys, too.
As much as we'd like to go on more roadtrips, it seems bad form to do so when you have good fighters who have taken the time to move into your neighborhood and start burning it down...heheh.
I think the North's peaceful "rep" is ill-deserved and hogwash, to be honest. With all due respect to my learned friend Chee, of course. My perceptions are just different.

The north is so boring atm Razor & Morsus Mihi have been sending a squad or 2 to the south and even seen a FLA pilot or 2 as well. Cant say I have ever been to the north in my career but that's probebly due to being to busy in the south to worry about the love in that is the D2 north atm.
If the north is actually busy then would be interested to know why u have to travel so far for PVP...

Anyway, we formed up in close range bs with a few bumpabs and had some cap ships for support ready and found out you were at the Complex gate, which was indeed a clever place to be....
We came in at you, couldn't bump because lack of mwd'ing in/near deadspace, and can't scramble because, well, Nyx's are lame :P We started killing off fighters and you ended up warping off because we couldn't bumped you effectively enough, stupid things.
Also, our attempts to cyno in the carriers on you failed, because you can't activate cyno's near complex gates, which is not cool.

The Nyx was scanned down at a mission gate next door to Taisy. Pretty soon we had around 15 bs ready to go. On our way over we realised that MWD's weren't going to work in deadspace, so bumping would be hard (oops!). Nevertheless, we decided to go for it anyway, before the opportunity was lost.
Jump in, warp to covert ops. Move around a bit to uncloak the Nyx. Everyone was crawling up, giving a little *bump*, but it seemed to be working! We tried to open a cyno up for dread backup, but it seems this doesn't work in deadspace either. The Nyx was starting to go into armor when it managed to warp, taking down one BS with fighters. It was pretty frustrating, we thought the bumping was working, but it was pretty laggy.

From what Rawthorm told me, his screen pretty much froze up for about 2 mins, and by the time it came out of it, he had pretty much no cap left and shields were just about gone. Its all good though, he needs a bit of a scare from time to time to keep him vigilant

It was a very good attempt and your guys deserve credit for the speed at which you formed up to have a stab at me.
I initialy was a the accel gate having just previously rumbled a group of pirates having a stab at a mission runner (was either yourselves, or the black rabbits) and decided to cloak afterwards but stay around to keep an eye on my buzzard which was salvaging a nighthawk wreck. I decloaked to take in some salvage and then cloaked again and thats when you must have pin pointed my position. Your covert ops obviously came in quick enough to see me cloak and a few minutes later your fleet came in to have a go.
Saddly when your fleet warped in my screen locked up (as a result of the warp in, the dominix's deploying drones or other factors) and when I finaly was able to act my shields and cap were gone. I'm not one to give up so I broke out the fighters and managed to kill one of you before warping off. I'd have loved to see how it would have gone if I was able to fight from the begining but you know how eve is sometimes
As a note the bumping even without the MWD was partialy effective but what most people who've not tried it for themselves fail to realize is that bumping tactics become its own enemy. The constant shifts in speed and direction as you bump me give brief moments when im almost at full speed, even if only for a split second so your playing the odds and its only a matter of time until you actualy bump me into warp.

Outbreak came to Lonetrek to start raids in Tribute in October. We picked out 6NJ in Venal as a second phase to the campaign right at the start, and moved there in mid-November.
I have got to say I am becoming fond of the area. There are some downsides but the positives out weigh them.
We've lost two POSses so far. A large that a Rule of Three badger donated to us ("hey guys, does anyone know how a POS works?") and a small that we erected in response to the dumbing down of probes.
From 6NJ we like to visit the Mordus Angels in their faction battleships out in N5Y, we like to go play with the Nidhoggur that lives in HPA, and we love griefing the members of The Pentagram up in PF-QHK/P-VYVL. And then there is Kith of Venal, who occupies a special place in our hearts and on our killboard. Our campaign objectives against them have already been met, but somehow we're not satisfied, and so Phase Two of the Northern Campaign has been extended.
Razor's roaming gangs get an honorable mention - Ernest Graefenbergs Typhoon has been clocked at 7km/s during the last week! Eat your heart out, eXtas.
I am impressed with Morsus Mihi in particular. Although there has been some isolated smack, their forum presence has been both thoughtful and civil, and their tenacious defense of IMK is top notch. I mean, on any given weeknight they have a large bubble on both gates of the system and scouts out. When they see the enemy coming they get the camp ready. So we have not been able to kill Travling and his hauler as much as we would like.
That and their aggressive use of carriers has been impressive. They utterly slaughtered 8 Outbreak battleships that came to play a few nights ago. It went like this . . .
Marko > Hey fellas, get your fleet BS. Fit dampeners if you can . . . MM has some carriers stuck in their own bubbles.
. . .time passes. . .
Marko > GET IT OFF ME! GET IT OFFFFF!!!!! Insurance Guy > Care for some Tritanium, Marko?
But that little fiasco set the stage for operation "GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK" where you go and kill 4 or 5 NPC'ing ravens and then buy yourself a new tech 2 fleet battleship, which you then proceed to toss into the giant maw of the D2/MM/Razor/Tre/Mordus/Kith POS killing gaggle. Sometimes they choke on it, or get indigestion. Ok, I killed the metaphor. Sorry.
But my overall assessment of the North is two thumbs up, good fights are available, its easy to make isk by farming the large population of carebears, and for added excitement you can erect a POS and see who decides to show up. Some of the locals behave a bit badly to add that much needed motivation which comes in handy when you need to go the extra AU to lay the smack down.
This has been Marko Debreault, currently logged out in a fleet battleship in a safespot 33 au away from the center of the 6NJ solar system. When I log in I am going to kill some stragglers from the weekend POS killing blob, and then I think I'll see if anyone from The Pentagram is home.

Triumvirate run?
Probably because as per usual the stupid ganking carebear nap squad sent in a blob that was impossible to beat. Thats generally the only time Triumvirate run from fights unless you are rabbling on about yesterday when 2 gangs went chasing an FLA freighter which got away.
End of the day, Triumvirate even with their miniscule numbers take the fight to people and randomly take down pos's for a bit of fun. They just make sure the dreads don't get rusty.
Remember you are part of a huge nap. Triumvirate are a small alliance where their friends benifit more than Triumvirate do. They don't rely on their friends to bail them out of trouble. It's not like your guys can do and like FOF have done oh so much, When triumvirates assets are being attacked there isn't 150+ people spanning over 7 alliances coming to help them. They are pretty much lone soldiers. Remember that before trying to flame what they do and how they do it.
I am proud to have been a member of Trium and I will be proud when I am a member of them in the future. (because everyone knows I will go back eventually.)

Kemono. has been in the north for about a month now.. been getting loads of fights from all the allinaces and other pvp corps around the area.
Establishment has been around now in the north for a bit, Not had a fight with them yet. But ive allways had a eye on that corp because of that nyx very nasty ship
Outbreak been around aswell, i was gonna join them for a while but dident. Very good pvp corp.. Never had a fight with them only ganks so far... But once thay get a fleet our fleet looks all small lol, then i turn into Xirtam on TS (SAFESPOT GUYS SAFESPOT)
Morsus mihi has been giving us loads of fights in the north, i think thay have a bad habit of jumping into our fleet without knowing we are there.. But i think morsus mihi is the only allinace that can catch a mwding typhoon
Then we got CDC and Razor and D2, We seem to get loads of fights in M-O and P3- can get kinda nasty some times eh
But for now we wont leave the north, but we will maybe go and see how the south is one day soon...
I love you Mang0o, take a guess why -Eris |

seeing as this is a northern combat blog i feel obliged to give my two cents on fights that have been had and what has been done.
At first D00M. was a small corporation, we had high sp players and we did our best to cause anarchy however no higher goals were in sight. We killed people and were happy to leave it at that. I wont deny we camped EC-P8R alot, but thats because we had alot of fights there.
We then became close to Yesodic Nomads and Exanimo inc. After a couple of months flying together, working together and generally getting along really well we decided to form Triumvirate. This 3 corpoartion alliance was going to take fights to the north as best we could.
We started with ISS and FoF and NFC, there were numerous engagements particularly in EC, because it was the choke point, in our time we set up 2 POS's there both of which we knew would be destroyed it was just a matter of time. The only reason we put up POS's was to have a secure place to jump carriers and to sit, and also to draw out northern forced to fight at our POS giving us the advantage.
We war decced NFC, took gangs to their space and had alot of kills, we destroyed them in every empire engagement, of which there were many, eventually after we gave them a bloody nose in empire and IRON swooped them out of deklein, the NFC disbanded.
We then focused our resources on ISS. A medium POS we set up in EC was hit by a large BS group from ISS, our tower had only defences. With limited forces we inflicted maximum damage, we prevented the POS from going to reinforced, and the final BS kill count was 26. However due to cans which had been placed around POS all BS's were replaced by CCP (this has been discussed enough just a rough overview). Then the MC were hired to hit our POS after numerous ISS attempts had failed. Unfortunately the timing of the MC attack could not have been worse, and we had far to few to attempt a defence. We then war decced ISS racking up 100's of kills.
Over the next few weeks we had many engagements with IRON, FLA, FoF and any other northerners who felt like it. Which then led us up to Triumvirates day of war. We started off with a fleet to help a small ally by the name of Eternal Empire, they were not particularly strong but they had the same enemies as us. Ekliptika and FoF were attacking a POS of theirs so we went up there, we jumped into their camp destroying everything we could with minimal losses. We were then waiting for the co-ordinates of the POS under siege to hit the dreads attacking it (there were only 2). However due to the slow speed at which we were given the location the dreads managed to warp away. However the POS was saved.
Then an hour or so later while we were still in a fleet we recieved word that another ally, RISK were under attack by an IRON fleet, we proceded to help them, we prepared carriers to jump in for close range fleet combat, as it was understood they had carriers and we headed towards the location (I cannot remember exactly where, it was close to ROIR). We didnt get there in time to prevent it going into reinforced but we managed to box them in the system. Our scout then called out on teamspeak "enemy fleet now on the gate". After a couple of minutes IRON jumped into us. Bubbles were dropped and we began engaging. A cyno field was then dropped by us and 3 carriers jumped in and began engaging, it was a good fight but Triumvirate managed to win it.
We then had word our own POS in EC was under attack by ISS by a large fleet with 5 or so dreads. We moved back, we were not as large as we were at the start due to losses/people logging off. We warped into the POS with 20 BS's and 3 carriers within the bubble, the carriers assigned fighters. The engagement laster around 40 minutes with people warping off coming in, going inside shield to repair, in the end we had taken down 3 dreads and most of the support with the POS's help.

Edited by: Darknesss on 19/12/2006 13:27:29 After that point we were no longer small time anarchists but rather an alliance with a long term goal.
Then came the FoF POS siege in MI60, we had decided we wanted to hurt FoF, and it was thought the best way to do this was to destroy their ops in this ice system. 4 POS's were there 1 large 2 mediums and a small. By the time the attack had been organised there were only 3, 1 small 1 medium 1 large. During the course of this weekend we managed to destroy all 3, multiple engagements happened, but nothing severe. Then the word came in of an IRON, FLA and FoF blob of 100+ coming to attack. We called on any allies we had and our gang reached about 50, however we had the advantage of position and with MI6 being a 1 gate system it meant we had every strategic advantage. We informed the GM's that a large fight was going to happen to get them to strengthen the node. about 10 medium bubbles were set up to prevent them warping in on us and long range fittings were set. We also brought in 5-6 carriers and had them sitting on the gate with our fleet. As our enemy gathered forces on the other side of the gate we waited. Then the scout called out that they were jumping in, local reacher 150+. The lag was unbelievable, most people on both sides couldnt see any enemies, however the few who could inflicted as many losses as possible. Mid fight the node went down, this took away our advantage of position and we were overwhelmed with numbers when we managed to log back in. Our 2 small POS's were then attacked by the large gangs that IRON/FLA brought. the MI6 siege was over.
Over the last few months we have had many engagements with IRON/FLA we have tried to take the fight to them as best we could. Weve gone to VFK weve gone to 3JN, weve gone to C4C. Weve hit ISS POS's, weve hit NEC POS's. Weve fought outnumbered and weve killed outnumbered. Of course we have won some and we have lost some. Exanimo left in persuit of their mercing dreams and we decided otherwise. However D00M. and YNC are still together and we are fighting as hard as always. We will continue our fight against the north, numbers arent everything we have the means and the drive. We will continue to grow, and destroy.
However props to the north, its not as highly publicised but it is by no means a boring place. To those i respect /me takes a bow.
Regards
Dark

Yup, whichever way you cut it, Outbreak and Triumvirate have the balls to engage when seriously outnumbered.
AGG fight was fun for the bits I saw, Outbreak having a covert for setting up the rest of their fleet at optimum sniping points. Classic hit-and-fade. Zero smack.
Triumvirate, well, I know we have smack between us. But they pretty much shoot anything that moves through central Pure Blind; which makes things interesting for us.
Happy Xmas both, I hope the holidays bring us more fights, more kills, and something fun for the new year.

But for now we wont leave the north, but we will maybe go and see how the south is one day soon...
the only reason we can catch a MWDing typhoon is due to us getting practice chasing pirate dave and his 5K+ /sec sabre.

To answer the OP in part you don't see many threads about the North as the majority of players keep it in game, where it should be.
Personally I think it's great we have some nearby targets like TRI & TOXIN as it saves 100jump round trips looking for a decent scrap
LOL also at some of the BoB guys coming in with NAP zone this and NAP that. We have long term friendships with certain corps & alliances and trust each other to know we have each others back if the preverbial hits the fan, but generally speaking keep ourselves to ourselves.
95% of all fights I see in the north are smack free and local is often robust but cordial and respectful.
I can only talk personally about IRON but I'm delighted we don't spam eve-o with endless threads to prove how big our parts are . You're more likely to find us posting on threads like some of the TRI videos in that section and having a laugh about things after the event.

Ahaha the fcked constellation strikes again. P-V & PF- stations are... ebil. -------- The BoB model is bad for business. Incidently the BoB model is more suited for a game such as WoW where as the ASCN model more suited for Eve.

Looking at the alliance map, the northern regions have been quiet for way too long. If you disregard Pure Blind wich will forever be a free for all, what has really happened up there lately?
Not a single station changing hands, no huge fleets throwing itself at eachother. You need some less competent diplomats tbh
quite far from the truth tbh. geminate has been scene of constant war for many months now.
f-e, e-u, sas, tc, exotic dancers took the bwf 8mg outposts from big blue, f-e then went and helped ratel alliance defend thier outpost in tde from smash and roadkill, but due to them putting up 36large pos's in 1 night after about 2months of standstill fighting, smash took tde from ratel. roadkill then put up an outpost in k25.
ratel fell out of good terms with us along with e-u, tc, and we allied w/smash and roakill, as they were fighting e-u tc, and ratel. f-e along with wreckless abandon went to bwf and 8mg and locked down the systems for close to 2months, during this time e-r went to syndicate and other ragions nowhere near geminate and let thier alliance and miners to fend for themselves, tc also disappeared. smash and roakill stayed in tde and k25, mainly k25 defending from a large invasion by d2, cdc, pure ,ratel and the odd e-r pilot. after about a month d2 pulled out and cdc, pure, ratel, and e-u were left by themselves, and quickly also gave up. e-u then gave up thier outposts to storm armada alliance. tde remains in smash's hands, and k25 in roadkills. f-e is taking a bit of break, due to 6months of constant war, all while letting the rest of gem get fat and lazy
i think that pretty much sums up geminate in the last 5-6months ^_^
Very nice Post!!!

<snip>
Heh...I've always viewed you guys POS as nothing more than bait. Others seem to get a lot more bent about them. In my humble opinion, a single POS from you guys in an NPC system is just another PvP focal point...one which has allowed you to claim a dread kill. Still, assaulting them can be a fun diversion. I think you guys have definitely gotten your money's worth out of them, even if you had paid for that large...heheh.
The engagement you speak of in IMK a week and a half ago or so...that was pretty quick, brutal and fun. When you guys were coming, we had very little on the gates. I figured we didn't have enough cowbell and were going to get smoked. Still, that has its charms so we hung in there. Just as you guy were coming in, we had a few guys logging in, asked what was up...we told them...they warped to the gate and then all hell broke loose. Heh...definitely fun. Mad props for jumping in, Marko. I think our bubble on that gate went online AS you jumped in...we were taking everything down and standing down when you guys were sighted.
A few days before that fight, y'all came in way late, just as we're all falling asleep (I was actually in Jita outfitting my hurricane...lol) and getting ready to log and you murderized several HACs with only a small loss. So you definitely dish it out as well as take it. Good show.
Good fights...I've hardly played in the past 9 days due to the holidays and being very ill. Looking forward to getting back in there.

the northern napfest i feel (as an EU guy in another thread mentioned) is not to promote only tons of carebearing and isk making...but a massive peaceful buffer to d2 space and ultimately their capital ship yards. we're pretty sure they have at LEAST 1 titan, i'd put my money on 2-3 but thats just me being mildly insane.
i would put my money on d2 having an armada of a capital ship fleet. theyre all VERY skilled pilots and strategists. when they sent SOME people and a dread fleet of 15ish to k25 for a month or so, all people on our side fought our tails off to what i think was just a tiny tip of the d2 iceberg. im still trying to decide if they were just testing us, or if it was merely a pvp warmup for something MUCH bigger in the near future, and while i know they dont like us, i have a feeling theyve been building and preparing for something huge, possibly something that will make bob vs ascn look like a middle school fight.
couple that with the fact theyre very close territorially and politically with razor, MM, and have cdc/pure/eu for a pretty badass support fleet. i expect big things out of the north not too long from now.

well, since this dropped back to like page 7, I thought I'd bring it back to the forefront of our minds.
There's been quite a few major duke out's happening in the north, I'd like to say thanks to D2,Coven,Pentagram and whoever else was in either PF or PV. Even tho I was blown clear out of both of my ships, and my corpses tossed into the deep freeze of space, it was alot of fun.
And now that BOB + MC are coming to the north, I forsee thing's getting alot hotter.
Keep up the good fight's o7

The north successfully killed a small Outbreak POS in PF-QHK today.
As downtime hit yesterday I kept seeing D2 pilots leaving PF-QHK. It appeared they were losing interest, so I gave the order to erect a small POS. That really makes them mad.
We got the POS up but numbers were severely in their favor. They attacked it quickly and knocked it into reinforced, almost killing an Outbreak carrier in the process.
Outbreak had successfully inserted itself into D2's appointment book again. They set up bubble camps all over and sat around for some hours like alliance guys are prone to doing.
After a while we had the numbers to have some fun. We had in the vicinity of 22 BS, 12 of which were docked in station and 10 of which were out in space. The alliance guys had a large bubble on the station. We had 3 carriers docked, and the MC brought two motherships, both of which were in space.
The alliance guys had 20 or so BS and 2 carriers in space. Their support fleet (40 guys or so?) sat drowsily on the station, pleased at having successfully denied Outbreak the chance to undock.
So we undock everything, warp everything else in, kill the bubble and the support fleet. It takes a while for the northern guys to realize whats happening, but finally they warp in their BS and carriers. The carriers and a few of their BS escape the slaughter.
After a few hours pass the D2 titan appears in local. Our small POS is almost out of reinforced. A 70-80 man Morsus Mihi fleet is sighted in WH-JCA, and sure enough they're headed our way. Another 40 man D2 gang is inbound from BKG. 6 enemy carriers have cynoed into the hostile POS.
The alliance guys use their Titan to avoid the jump in gate to the system. It's getting late, we've had a great time. The alliance guys put together such a blob as to make fighting silly, so we call it quits for the day and folks log and sleep or do other things.
The wee POS dies, unremarked and unmourned. It killed an enemy dictor; let that be its legacy.
Most everyone is logged as I type this - local is at 11, down from 240 earlier. If I'm in the mood I'll go kill some carebears or some fleet stragglers, as they log in and leave in ones and twos. An evening in the North is good for around 60 million isk, although sometimes you come home empty, and sometimes you return with a cool billion.
The actions of parties involved in todays fighting might lead to questions. Some of those questions might be about motivation, like, why were they there, or why did they behave in that manner? Some questions might be about the impact of the actions today as they apply to a wider ranging conflict that may be occurring in the North. Some might even question whether or not a rogue pirate corporation such as Outbreak deserves this much attention. I've given an outline of todays events. The posing and answering of such questions I leave to others.

Nope Eve is about lining your pockets with as much isk as you can, buying shiney ships and looking at them in your hanger, and making fun of corps you know nothing about on the forums. Nah it's not about fun.
But since what we do is so easy you should be able to come out to where we are and teach us a lesson right? But if it helps you sleep at night go ahead and keep telling yourself that. _______________________________________

i was asking about possebilities in your forum half a year ago because it seemed that outbrreak had some potential but the differences of opinion were already sorted in the forum. no application from my side was ever sent. your corp hasnt developed a single bit since then imo and so it was the right thing for both parties.
i am bitter about other things but certainly not about that crap

Personally, I say "of course Outbreak deserves this kind of attention."
You guys are worthy adversaries and do a hell of a lot with much less.
I saw a huge slaughter carried out by Outbreak a few days ago...you have a 30-40 man BS fleet and in two different systems to annihilated a couple of mixed Venal resident/D2 fleets. If I recall the battle reports, they northern fleets were support and raven-heavy, so it isn't a surprise it went down like that versus a group of superior fleet fighters like Outbreak, but still..you did it and it was mass murder.
Not only did you do it...you did it quietly. No forum chest-beating (that I saw). These things are why I say the "Best Corp of 2006" is well deserved.
To those who say you don't make an impact, I say they are mistaken. You do not need to claim sovereignity over systems to make an impact. Those of us who live in the North and have been fighting Outbreak for about three months now know of the impact your corp makes. From my standpoint, it's not all negative towards your enemies, either. You help improve us. In return for wrecked ships, some of us gain valuable experience.
As for the nearly 90-man MM fleet that showed up. It was nothing more than we came when we were called. As it turned out, we weren't needed. Maybe next time we will be.
