Hi,
I started using 5 Small ECM Drones in my PvP setup. During tests, I was able to jam a Harbinger once every minute. This was averaged across 10 minutes.
I know that most battles last less than 5 minutes, sometimes only 3 minutes.
But, I'm wondering if the 5 ECM Drones is better than 5 Small Combat Drones. Seems to me that taking out the other vessel for 20 seconds every minutes is worth it versus the damage 5 combat drones dish out.
Thoughts? Anyone else try ECM Drones in PvP?

They are nice, although the small version isn't really worth it. 5 mediums will jam non-caldari cruisers consistently enough and 5 large equals a pre-patch multispec or more.
I guess it depends on your overall droneskills, if you have combat drones/heavy drones/interfacing etc. at 5 you're more likely to use combat drones to get the most out of your skills.

Shhhhhh! Don't tell anyone or CCP will chase them down with a nerf bat.
ECM drones have their own skill. Not sure how Advanced Drone Interfacing skill affects them.

Advcanced Drone Interfacing doesn't affect any drones, all it does is allow you to fit one Drone Control Unit per level.

ecm drones are effective but using them means a big dps reduction which balances them well imo.

ECM drones seem reasonably effective. The really sad thing as that they are not affected by your skills *at all*. Even the ECM Drone skill adds control range, *nothing* to do with the ecm drones at all - are there any other skills that are the primary requirement for an item, and do not affect the items performance in any way at all?

yeah 5 heavy ecm drones do work well on a mega for example but they have big drawbacks too. if u get attacked in ur b'thron for example but an ecm ship and a dmg dealer and u get jammed, if u get 5 ogreII'son the ecm ship the even while jammed they will eat it up very quickly and will have to warp off leaving u to kill the other ship/ships. even 5 heavy ecm drones will have trouble jamming say a rook or something.
i personally use them on my brutix sometimes, 5 mediums can really let u take on some big targets.
