I received the following today, concerning war between Omnigen and PAK:

Attetion Madame Kerrigan.
Your corporation's reign of mischief is soon to come to an end.
In 24 hours time a state of war will exist between PAK and OmniGen. Our assests and security forces are standing by the ready to see a complete and utter end to PAK corp.
ULITMATIUM TO END HOSTILITIES....
If you wish to end this war before it begins...
1) OG will accept payment of 10 million ISK per member of PAK (presently 11 members so 110 million ISK)
2) ALL current PAK members will meet with OmniGen Directors outside the Ajna School station, they will eject from their ships (currently some BB's and 1 Scorpion) and await execution
3) ANY prize and/or prize ship awarded to PAK member Warhound will be immediately turned over to OmniGen
4) PAK will leave the Aridia region, never to return under penality of death and a renewal of hostilities
I bid you and your corp mates Adieu.

I hereby offer my response:
My good man, we have no reason to fear a war with Omnigen. You will come to realize soon enough that war against a pirate corp is impossible, because we do not need to fight on your time, we can do our business at any time. We don't need to engage outnumbering forces, and you I'm sure can not watch us 24/7. Likewise we do not mine, we do not manufacture. You therefore CAN NOT destroy our economy, but rather you give us open reign to attack your miners and haulers without a need for standard robbery or fees.
So now I can give You a chance to escape this war: 200mil and the corpse of Scarabe :) Otherwise your entire corp is KOS, piracy rules of conduct will no longer apply as long as a corp war is active.

Well here's the unfortunate part of your hypothesis...our pilots ARE on virtually 24/7 simply due to geography.
Really the demands are in your court and I hope you enjoy playing Eve from the inside of a station and/or via alt.

P.S...with the kind of service we get from Scarabe we want this version thanks...those cloning facilities don't always get everything right

Fighting pirates requires a corporation to be completely dedicated to that sole goal, otherwise you will be smashed. I have no idea how "good" PAK is, so I don't feel like making assumptions. Though frankly I hope PAK kicks your ass, term numbers 2 and 3 are really ****ant and designed so that PAK will not surrender, which was OG intention all along, wasn't it? Now you can claim "We gave them a chance" if you do come out on top.
Surrender terms are for goats, just kill them and don't talk crap.

Declaring war on a pirate corp is not a good idea for another reason...
not all pirates have negative sec rating.
Basically, what you would be doing is giving positive sec pirates the right to come into high sec space to pod your butts and run back to "pirate controlled" space to hide.
Not a good plan...
Personally, i've been dying (sometimes literally) for a newb corp to declare war on biomass... Probably 1/3 of the members keep their rating positive..
Declaring war on a pirate corp is like blowing the horn that unleashes the hounds of hell...

finally a topic not about the NVA *fiew*
Attacking a pirate corp... Waow i hope for PAK that Omnigen is full of members, it's always fun when u can find targets at any time (even more if it's in empire space heh)... I won't send any of my wingmen training there, since i am afraid they taste too much blood and finish in PAK as basic rats 
btw the ultimatum is a good joke... I'm sure Omnigen's directors had a lot of fun writting it
