Edited by: JP Dante on 19/12/2006 07:19:10 I have an idea that IĘd like to see the developers incorporate into the game! IĘd like to see the ability to orbit any of the myriad of moons and/or planets and then, utilizing new skills to be introduced, scan the surface for new items to market or trade, like maybe plants and animals that could be processed into food stores to be sold on the market or traded to outlying systems. Then actually have the ability to land on the surface of that moon or planet and the launch some kind of ATV (again requiring new skills to be learned) to hunt down and harvest the plant or animal that showed up on you scans. This, IMHO, would be far more fun, challenging, and maintain the ęfeelĘ of the EvE environment which sets it apart from all the other hack and slash warrior games! I really donĘt want to see this game turn into just another Everquest or WoW! -J.P. Dante Privateer

Yeah, caps lock title makes me not want to answer this post
Broadly I agree with you. My own opinion is that planets should be a new industrial part of the game just like POS, but producing things like trade goods and so on, which are easier to convert to isk / can cater for a larger market than the specialist T2 application of moon mining

Can't wait to dock at a planet, get into a planetary fighter, then accidentally fly into space and suffocate or crash and burn into a mountain.
But sounds cool. Sort of Freelancerish, but cool. THUKKER -Be Paranoid

I would only agree if it actually becomes useful for something, otherwise its meaningless fluff, and meaningless fluff turns games into image fests with no gameplay.

Well said. I'd be okay with linking it to exploration, so you have to fire probes at the planet to hunt up goodies, and then those goodies have worth in EvE. But don't get all hung up on immersive details that make it time-consuming. Remember, whatever you do in EvE, you're likely to do it a bajillion times, so the interface should be efficient. -------------- Civis Ascendant Sum |
