Are there even any moons available in high sec or low sec that are actually able to at least cover the cost of the POS fuel? =/ I have checked hundreds of moons in the past few days and they are all occupied so far. |

You can't moon mine in highsec and a fair amount of lowsec... and the remotely decent lowsec moons have been claimed for years.

The rare (and therefore valuable) Moon Goo moons are the things the 10,000+ member mega coalitions fight over. The slightly less valuable ones are the ones the 1000 member alliances fight over. The barely profitable ones are the ones the small alliances that can only bring a couple dozen capitals to a fight, fight over.
A solo player or small corp? Yeah. Don't think so. |

You will find plenty of r8's around. If you set up 2 large towers to react and make carbides your looking at about 100-150 mil a week profit. |

Try some NPC 0.0 space - places like curse, great wildlands, etc are easy to get into - especially with a JF - and many decent R16, R32's are unclaimed... |

As it was said, you need to go to 0.3 and lower for moon stuff.
Yes, the good moons are usually taken already. You either have to fight for them (the best moons are in the firm grip of mega alliances with 10k+ people) or you need to resort to less valuable moons.
Best profit is made by reactions though and not by only moon harvesting low end moons. |

100-150 mil per week seams very little for the amount of work and investment needed for a moon mining tower. I haven't done any moon mining so far but i was expecting it to be much more profitable even on low value moons.
I think i will stick to manufacturing and selling, that gets me 100+ mil in profit per day when i'm not too busy or lazy. |

You can't moon mine in wormhole space. So that is not an option. When CCP finally introduces comets, they apparently drop moon minerals, though at what rate and amount, I do not know. You can do reactions there, just not moonmine. |
