Ive been using these new probs with some degree of sucess. But I have come across a weird result.
In 1 system I found 2 signatures with the multispec probe, a gravametric & an unknown.
I found the gravametric 1 easy, but how do u scan for an unknown? You only have grav, mag, ladar & radar probes, not an unknown probe.
Please dont tell me I have to launch 4 probes at each planet, 1 for each race.
I have pretty good astro skills, can do a probe in 250 secs, but 250 sec x 4 (1 for each probe) x 10 (average no of planets in sys) is about 3 hrs give or take on my own, and with some plexes only around for 10 mins or so, I got diddy chance of finding that!
Any help would be appreciated ;)

nope, I scanned every planet in the sys and all i found was the gravametric signature, the unknown never appeared...

So anyone else out there with clues how to find unknowns ?
Maybe you need unknown quest, persuit,comb & sift probes
Any devs out there, coz theres plenty of info on racial sigs but not unknowns?

I've found and scanned out two unknown locations. Both were drone complexes. Use any sensor type probes you like, it didnt seem to matter for me.

hmmmm, I scanned every planet twice with gravametrics & magnometrics, and few planets with ladar but got nothing

it is a CHANCE based system.
You can scan 20 times without finding it.
Heck, if your REALLY unlucky, you can scan 100 times and not find it.
Just keep on scanning. 2 times at a planet is NOTHING.
