Has anyone else noticed that the risk v. reward principle doesn't apply very well to the Midst of Deadspace mission? I accepted the missin knowing what I was getting into...a long tedious mission with very little reward. But I wanted to get some Caldari and Amarr salvage (running for a lvl 4 minmatar agent) so I accepted it.
I knew going in about the large amount of webbers and scramblers that aggro as soon as you shoot anything especially on the 3rd stage and I was prepared for it...but that doesn't change the fact that it is quite easy to lose your ship on this mission, and you arent getting a lot in return for that "ease of losing-ness".
The trouble is that there is NO salvage to be had. None. Salvaged every ship from the first three gates and not a single piece of salvage. Throw this on top of the fact that there are no bounties for this stage, just a small agent reward and the risk v. reward is way off.
Maybe I am just unlucky? Is anyone else getting salvage from this mission?

Some of the ships in these missions do drop salvage, but most of them don't. But as far as reward, have you tried checking prices on all those dogtags? It's not quite as nice as, say angel bounties would be for that many ships, but you can still easily make 20-30 million isk selling all the tags from the set of missions.

Currently only the 5 pirate faction ships drop salvage.
Drones, Mercenaries, Mordus and Empire Navy ships do not.

I did this mission for the first time this morning. I love it! It's been, so far, the most profitable mission I've done in a long time. I got a cartload of tags and getting on for 30m worth of loot in various mods including lots of named items like Arbalest Siege launchers. This was, of course, the first of the 5 missions. The second was a courier and paid as you would expect but I just requested the details for mission 3 and will get the following as payment/reward:
1 Imperial gate pass 1 Memory Augmentation - basic
Although the mission itself is quite difficult I'd say it's definately worth the risk.

The first two parts are easy. Can anyone tell me about the 3 other ones?

EVE-Info is great but this link: http://home.broadpark.no/~tijohann/eve/missions/
is much more maintained, also it works in the ingame browser. Includes tactical tips as well.
Furthermore the 5/5 for ITMOD you can salvage, they are caldari ships but they are "State" whatever (e.g. State Oshiro and State Zen are the names of the scorpions) and they drop a goodly amount of salvage (about 100 circuit boards or so, not superb but still decent)
That all being said I will not be doing ITMOD again or at least not while my ROF is about 10s it just takes too long when I could be whoring Angel bounties... |

Further to my previous post about the imperial gate pass; could anyone tell me what it's for, if it's saleable and, if so, what it might be worth?

You need it for one of the later missions in the sequence, don't lose it :) |

Ahhh, thanks. I misread the mission write up and thought you got that particular gatepass from the mission itself.
