Edited by: Kate Mar'Kei on 25/11/2003 09:54:38 Some of you may not be aware that there was an undocumented* change to office rents made some time ago. All office rents now have to be made manually by a corporation director, as opposed to the automatic payment that use to be in effect previously. This was brought to my attention over the last weekend and upon indepth research I have found that several office that SC held (for future operations based in high security empire space) had been closed due to non-payment of office rent. No mails had been sent, no warning had been given, the offices were just closed. Now office space in high security space is not hard to get, but for those corporations that have offices in more "high demand, low security" space that they were holding for future operations may find that those offices no longer exist. I urge all corporation directors to check their office rentals, if you find that you are missing offices you will find any goods that were held there will be impounded till the CEO pays the impound fee, the goods will then be released into the CEO's personal hanger.

*I have checked both the update logs posted on this site, and have run several searches of these boards (via EVE:I and ClanZero) and have found no other posts on this issue. Also the non-automatic payment feature has been known to continue working in some cases, SC has two offices that have stayed rented due to automatic payments going though. ------------- Edited the formatting, why does this board not have a preview function? -------------
Him the old man Priam first beheld as he sped across the plain, blazing as the star that cometh forth at harvest-time, and plain seen his rays shine forth amid the host of stars in the darkness of night, the star whose name men call Orion's Hound. |

Edit: Yes, it was a few seconds before my post. Still possible

Probably because of the office scammers who tie up offices for no reason except to annoy you or so they charge 100 million+ isk to release it.

They were always intended to have rent payable every month just like labs and factories are due every couple of days. Bet they unrent if they are not used, perhaps the same is going for offices now.
I can't believe CEO's and Directors haven't noticed the rents due yet, it's been going on a while
... you will see more and more marketing which in turn will bring you more players to torture. |

All that means is that it was put in after he clicked "post reply" but before he'd finished typing it and sending it.
Or he is just trying to psych you out.

Edited by: Draka on 25/11/2003 22:54:51 It is not lack of use, that is for sure. As part of being CEO, and "due dilligence", the very first thing I do each day when I first log on, and at intervals thereafter, is look at the "Bills Payable" section of the Corporate Wallet and insure all bills are paid. Haven't lost any of the 40 plus Offices to date - only Labs when we didn't keep them in use.
Some of them haven't seen a ship from my Corporation in over two months - the ones in Stain and Curse! Yet we still have them - both as a hedge on future plans and some as a simple matter of not being able to reach them to unrent them if I wanted to .....
Edit: bloody dyslectic fingers ....
