For the past few months i've been skilling in general stuff (cap, fitting, drone related mostly) in anticipation of what Kali would bring. My orignal plan was to specialize in the Tempest and T2 Autocannons.
Then came Kali and it brought us the Hyperion which to my eyes looks like a Blaster Tempest. It has the same slot layout, mass and nearly the same grid & CPU. 2 more guns however aswell as more shields, armor and a larger dronebay. I imagine the active tank bonus is either a blessing or a curse depending on whether you run dual LAR II setups or not.
Anyhow as a would be Tempest pilot this leaves me at the crossroads confused as to which one to pick. Old faithful who can still kick it - but lets face it she's not 19 no more and is starting to sag - or her hotter, younger sister.. 
I want to stick with the Tempest honestly, but with such a fast blaster ship entering the PVP arena i'm worried if it Rusty is still a viable choice.
So dear reader.. If you happen to be schooled in the arts of PvP and willing to lend me some advice, i'm all ears.

OP, take a look at this video: LINK: Inzi's "Perfectly Broken"
Awsome video. Now that video is indeed pre-Kali. However, it certainly shows that a Tempest can whup some tail in the hands of a skilled pilot. I'm sure that Inzi has plenty enough skill and rl skill to go around... but it certainly demonstrates that the Tempest alone is not lacking.

To me the tempest is the old workhorse of the war, you can always depend on it and it always works well. If i'm going out fighting and don't know what I'll face I'll be in a Tempest
