hi all. i am caldari and i have missiles and EWar skills. looking to get into hybrids in a big way. i do have the skills for hybrids, i used to fly merlin, moa etc. and i was wondering, should i get a ferrox and get used to using rails some more while say my large hybrid skill trains up? or should i just jump into a rohk and let the skills train up as i use it? and can i get away with using smaller rails on the rohk? the 425mm seems really expensive.

I'd train for ferox first if I were you. Once you have the skills and the isk you can move up to 425mm RoKH.

Depends how much ISK you have really. The thing about the Rokh range bonus is it makes it usable in a 150km fleet setup with named T1 guns and Iron, although the damage isn't great at that range.
With my skills Quickfit tells me that 350mm prototype gauss with Iron and 3 named tracking computers hit at 100km with 22km falloff.

I would tend to agree. Plus, you can be using the Ferox to make money while your gunnery skills keep training up.

I know you don't wanna hear it, but Ferox. The Rokh is way to expensive for a newer character to lose due to a poor setup (and I'm assuming poor support skills). A ferox will be more forgiving if you lose it. If your complaining about the price of 425 I's (since I'm assuming your NOT t2 trained) you should be collecting alot of isk before jumping into a well fit Rokh.
