I was looking for a font to create a signature for the forums and found out that thereÆs none (or at least I canÆt find one.) So in a couple of days IÆve assembled this font, to be used freely. IÆve only tested it on Windows. And is far from complete. But may be very handy to create signatures, titles and banners.
Note: The font is released under a Creative Commons License, and is provided ôas isö, with no warranty of any kind. All copyrighted terms and marks mentioned are the property of their respective authors.
Legalese aside, I hope you enjoy it.

Most game companies produce their own fonts, saves on having to pay for them, and makes them original.

Mmmmm... probably you have a different encoding. I'll look into it.
There's still some issues I have to fix. Some of the metrics are not right, perhaps I'll have to tweak a little more some kerning pairs. Some international characters are still missing.
I'll try to make it Unicode compliant as soon as possible.

Right click the link in first post, and "Save As" eve.ttf in folder on your computer, then install it like any other font.
By default the browser seems to open that link as html page for some reason, hence all you see is "funny characters" on your screen ^^;;

You can apply fonts stored on the server in CSS ( never got it to work properly ), this is why the browser will mess up. If everyone built their browsers to standards, there wouldn't be so many stupid issues with them.

The space could use a bit more love, so it's as wide as the others and a Narrow variant would be lovely.

You're right. I applied some auto-metrics and did some fast kerning because I wanted it to be out before Christmas. I'll try to fix that (among other things) as soon as posible. Regards.

Please, is very important that all of you understand the license by wich the font is released (take a couple of minutes to read it, please.)
You can use the font for personal creations (images, logos, etc.) but you CAN'T, under no circumstance, create any commercial product, least to say register any product made using this font or sell products made using this font (t-shirts, mug, etc.)
By this I also mean that if someone offers you to pay you to make him/her a signature, you can't accept the offer. The same goes if you are thinking on making a CafePress store or something similar: you can't do that. If you use this font to create something you should not see any money. Period.
Although the font is free and open it still contains the "E", "V", "O" and N" characters that are part of CCP's trademarks.
This font was created as a fan work for fans. And as it, it should not hurt, in any way, the legitimate rights CCP has on is copyrighted materials.
I hope you understand this and respect the license, so in this way the font will still be available for all of you in the future.

Objection: I don't think that making signatures for ISK (virtual currency in a virtual world) counts as 'commercial'.

I guess if you accept ISKs (Interstellar Kredits, not Icelandic Kronas) it would be fine.
(I hope you get your ISKs by playing and not by buying them, I was surprised to discover there are places where you can buy ISKs for EVE on the internet...)

Drop it in the ./Windows/Fonts folder. You might have to double-click it for it to appear in all running programs' font list though.

I apologize about bringing up an old thread (awesome font btw)...
I was trying to DL the TTF file, and windows kept opening up in a browser, instead of requesting to download the font. Here is the work around:
Right Click the link, and click on Save As.
When the save as dialog opens, under file name, change "eve.htm" to "eve.ttf" (without the quotes obviously), and save to the normal "X:\Windows\Fonts" directory, where X = Drive letter that windows is installed on.
