its either your cache,or your isp, mate.
try the cache cleanout, might help.

hmmm it seems to be at CCPs end i think its just a way of throttling the speed of logins also reduces the effectivness of hte log out tactic with alts. Quite a good view in my view

You could be right about a throttled login it makes sense.
I just deleted my portraits file 2000 files... and 3 called "macho something" in the same dir. Also 7 last patches of the game, why it saves them locally ?? i have no idea. 40mb wasted on my HD.
Started up the client nad logged in within 5 seconds... obviously its 5:30am in the UK now so that may have heaps to do with it... lol
It only re-created 1 macho dir with what i assume is my current IP???
Ill try it again peak time tommorow and if its still a fast log in ill post here claiming victory

after dt is the worst maybe it needs to 100% access all youre cache files again isntead of buffering them like it appeared it used to

You'll find its to do with your cache, the cleaner you keep your cache the quicker you log in

I always every few weeks:
rename my cache folder Start eve/close eve Go into old folder copy settings folder and pref.ini(Think thats the name of it) Paste it into new cache.
Means i have all old settings for loggin and overview etc.

It's a pretty common behaviour. Clearing the MachoNet folder in the cache folder cures it. No need to clear anything else.

You might be interested in deleting the stored map and the folder /machonet within /eve/cache

The cause for this is not yet known, but we do have a possible fix in testing. by Sharkbait | 2006.09.20 |
