Am i reading this incorrectly or are these two skills identical? If so, is that intended?

both do the same thing. multitasking is the advanced skill for targeting as you need targeting level 5 to even train it.

yep, Targeting V is +5 targets...Multitasking V is +5 MORE targets (so plus 10 total)

Multitasking is only usefull on logistic ships though. Since you've got a base 2 targets, and most on any non logistics ship is 7 targets. So targeting lvl 5 should cover all ships except for logistics.

Maybe in the future, when everyone has a widescreen, we can all have 12 locked targets

Which is an interesting statement, since the max "target back x targets" dropdown menu has CHANGED from max 8 to max 12 in Revelations.
BCs can target 8, but is there any ship that can target more ?
So... what ship can target 12 back anyway ? Did any of the larger ones change to max 12 ?

i think the recons can target back 12 cant remember which one those, combat or covert... hmmmm

hmmm seems that the force recons only get 10 targets ... im sure i fount out what locked 12... if there is one

I always have my BC with 11 and hated the change when they droped it down to 8. Pretty much any ship can target more then 8 with the correct modules.

Those modules would be quite useful on salvaging ships... having 10/11 locked targets on a salvage ship would be nice for some missions.
