I am new to the game so this may be obvious.
I went out into low sec space for the first time last night in a Caracal. Found some NPC's and that went well then seen a ship come up on me. It did not appear to me as an NPC as they are usually Red, this was Yellow I think. I still figured I could destroy it though :) So ya, I know this was my own fault.
Anyhow, it got right up to me and NOS'd me and once my cap was gone, he broke my shields then quickly got me down.
Just curious if there is any strategy for NOS, other than better ship or non reliance on Active Shield Tanking.
If I had a Cap Injector( I think ) and was able to pump some charge into the cap, enough to activate warp, would that have worked ?
Does NOS affect Drones ?
Anyhow, any opinion is welcome.

You got attacked by another player :)
Anyways, Nosing. There are a couple:
1) jam the enemy ship- preventing him from nossing and locking you
2) nos BACK
3) use cap charges
4) Stay out of range. This is pretty good, if you can stay out of range then you are fine, nos have a awful range- about (more for name ones) small 5K, medium 10K, large 20K

The above post summarizes it pretty well. If you don't want to carry nos of your own and can't keep 20km away from your opponent, then your only defense would be e-war. You can jam him so he drops lock (which is unfortunately chance based) or sensor dampen so that your opponent's locking range decreases significantly and he can't lock on you unless you're right under his nose.

Thanks for the info. In reading this it does not sound like its to hard to defend against, I just need react quicker. I spent to much time in Empire space.
So much to learn.
