Was here from almost day 1 but my first Character only last about a month (crap atts and RL got in the way). Created my new main after that. I am still playing and can't see leaving the game until CCP folds. Oh this is my combat alt by the way  (Hehe pushing 40m SP on the alt, damn I've been farting around Eve for a while.)

I was late to the party myself but I felt the need to tip the hat,
Familiar faces and all that. I think most of the 20th group that preceeded me that are still about are mostly playing from a month or two after release. I can think of a few who would have been about at the time though.

I was in beta but the release took some weeks before I was able to get it here in sweden

I remember a day of server crashes and many tries to log on. 
Somehow the indistributor managed to send my the second account a couple of days after the launch, but hey, life was easier back then ... without rats running around in battleships and arkonor in .4.

Well, i got the game on may 8th 2003 while it was released on may 6th 2003, but it wasn't possible to get it faster than may 8th here, in Canada... the UK where the 1st ones to put their hands on the game

i went to my game store and there was two release day versions of EVE online the guy said theve been there for more then 3 years... i know have two alts...

I played on and off since the beta but had to quit a month after the game went live RL then i made this Toon and its my main.
My Old beta toon is still in game MC-Cool MC was a corp thing i was gona start but never got around to it lol.

Oh I was here from day 1 with a Caldari character called Veers.
Deleted him about a month into the game and made this one.
I think I have one of the longest employment histories in the game (and it's trunc'd). It was so much more fun when we didn't have those silly things.
Unfortunetly, I've taken so many breaks from the game I'm almost halfway behind where I should be...but I'm catching up. But anyways, I'm an 'old fart'; So that's what smells.

Not day 1, but week 1 player. Would have been day 1 if my credit card had arrived a couple of days earlier.

Bloody heck.. .Has it been that long? Been in Eve since the begining. Different char though.. took him up to 30mil skills and gave him to a friend to play with :) Took a 6 month break cause I got UberPizzed at some rather asinine petition responses....
The addiction wouldn't be denied.. *sigh*
Now back in with 2 bloody accounts..still get pizzled at petition responses and feed my addiction.
It's like "Eve C r a cK" one taste .. you KNOW it's bad for you.. but it's sooo dang good.
I'd like to know how many guys online have RL "Eve Widows" and if they are catching 7 kinds of merry hades for spending all their time on Eve instead of trying to find the letter "G" with their wives...
I'll prolly be in till I can no longer afford it or Eve goes offline..

Since Beta, and this account has been running since release. Re-rolled Avon 2 or 3 days after release to specialise in "Reverse Engineering" because the Devs said it was "just around the corner".

Back in 2003 I only had dialup. I could not join Beta. I had to wait till EVE cd got in the stores USA in june. I bought the game and then had to get a better video card. I finally got my stuff together in July 27, 2003.
I have not stopped since and my wife and kids still think I am nuts.

Not quite day one but close enough. Took a month leave when I lost my rupture. And yes it was a big deal because it took our entire corp mining a full day just to afford it. Lost it to a warp scrambiling 4k rat
but couldn't get eve out of my blood so have been here ever since and don't plan on stopping anytime soon. |

Let me see, going back a ways here.
- Pre alpha; yep I was here
- Alpha 1; yep, been there done that
- Beta 1 invite; yep did that too
- Day 1 of North American release; yep been here since then.
Hadean Drive Yards has been around since before EVE was released as well.
Looks like we'll be here to turn the lights off in the server room if that ever happens.

had the game droped shipped think it was day two for me.over 30 million skill points and a game not even close to what it was on day one.still here and will be till servers go down for the last time. it just got in my blood will be 47 in feb.life is a strange thing well at leat i am

With a min char called Atlanntis Anais. female brutor, real stunner :)
Used her for 6 months then killed her off, started current amarr char.
miner science type, mission runner extreme (lag permitting) :) pvp was not my thing.
In the years that have past, i can only recall 2 memorable pvp encounters where the pvp'er did not run away or log off, Boabus was one and Tank Ceo was the other, both stayed till the death. my total respect to these 2 players. lack of respect goes to the roaming ganka noob so called pvp'ers there are in game now and back then.
EVE has come a long way and i will pvp along with the best now.
As always with anything humans are involved with, you will always have the gutless whiners, who always shout the loudest and get heard sadly.
enjoy the game and don't take it to seriously. it is supposed to be a GAME after all said and done

This account was created on Day 1 but this is my second main character in that time. I was in beta but only for the last 2 weeks.
No breaks worth mentioning, and agree with the others that this is the only MMO I will EVER play as they are all like DuploÖ in comparison.
To be honest any other game only holds my attention for the first few maps / levels these days simply because it only takes that long before the EvE addiction overtakes the 'WoW cool new game' emotions :D

I joined about a few weeks after the UK release, 25th June 2003. Read a load of posts by Eddz and a few others on another forum about how good the game was and gave it a go.
Aside from MUDS (played a lot ;) Eve was my first MMO. I've played WoW and Ryzom in the mean time for a month each and didn't really like either. Still playing Eve though :) I think it's the PVP that makes this game so much different from the rest.
