Or we understand that the art department can be fired so that more resources can be released for the development for things that actually matter, like new ships, missions and features. |

A new ship with no art? New feature or mission site with no art?
You funny.

Thulza Doom wrote: Exactly. I played Elite for a couple weeks and the feeling of flying your own ship and your success or failure depending in large part on your personal skill as a combat pilot was great. But since Elite is just combat it got pretty boring fast.
you mean when your target logs out and goes pooofff like magic and disappears? yea,, epic combat system in ED 2 weeks is all it took to grow very bored of it = not a very good game at all.
Thulza Doom wrote: EVE would benefit greatly from adding just this to the mix. The whole reason Star Citizen has gathered such a huge and loyal following even though it hasn't been released yet is the promise of essentially EVE type sandbox with combat sim and FPS experiences as well. I have been playing EVE for over 7 years now. It holds a special place in my heart. I only hope CCP plans on growing this game much more soon.
i can never understand this whole concept of copy this game copy that game, when EVE got where it is by being different. it's the ED and SC and other games out there that want to copy EVE but have never been able to do it right or even have the balls to do it in the first place.
SC has a huge following for a very different reason and yes it's a game that hasn't even been released. it's a horror story waiting to happen in my opinion. the prices on some of them ships lol. ships that are not even working models in a game that isn't finished. yes i know they won't be on sale once it launches..,,,,,,, when it does. but for right now, it's hey draw a new ship and lets sell it fools and their money but hey i'm not bashing on them, i hope it all goes great and the game is brilliant.
I've taken part in way too many beta tests over the years to back anything until it's live for a few months and you can really see the impact real people have on the game system, seen lots of cool games go down fast when the players start being players and doing things the devs never thought of. so yea the jury is still out on SC but ED lol verdict was death and sentence is currently being carried out lol
all them years ago we came to EVE to fly internet spaceships. we build them we break them. I'm sure EVE will change even more than it has in the last 10 years and we'll one day have the whole Wis thing with FPS game play, ground missions, station missions, ship boarding and many other things that CCP would love in the game.
so yea we'll all see eventually how it all plays out. soon.TM

Please understand that the people that make skins are different than the people that make other stuff

What you think the art team doesn't get paid?
I had the same feeling this time around as another wall of skins comes across my screen while reading the patch notes. Skins are great but lets pump some money into other things like completing patches such as project module tiericide which was announced 2 years ago and isn't even half way completed. |

I don't mind the skins at all... Heck, I say the more we have the better to be honest. I only wish they were a little easier on the wallet, however the only skins I have purchased was the SoE bundle. I also pay a monthly sub as I want to enjoy the game instead of make it a second job so I can plex like so many others. It's too bad that subscriptions don't get an extra discount on skin packs.... lol... |

Thanks for the skins - we get it and we understand it.
But what we really want is additional content - more ships, better access to tech 3 and beyond. New colour ships is great but the old school amongst us have stuck with you because the gaming content the progression and the ability to learn new skills and make a difference regardless of how much real life money we throw at the game.
No more skins - we are customised enough with our go fast stripes, lets concentrate on more game play advances and save the leopard print for our neglected partners knickers??
Kind Regards

I wonder if CCP is going to release a "Spaceship Selfie Stick" so your happy smiling face on the background of brand new ship skin could be loaded onto social network to share with others.

I don't mind the skins and I actually like a number of them. And as others have said, they take little time to put in. I still want my hello kitty skin though.

Skins are one of the new & multiple ways CCP are endeavouring to milk the cows without introducing gold ammo.
Ultimately consumerism and the choices it offers - from a neutral point of view it's hard to argue they are a bad thing for the game though, albeit if they keep rolling out skins like they are doing at a shameless rate i'm sure at some point the playebase udders will run dry and the cows will begin to moo.
