Bounty Bar

I know Bounty Hunting is a mini-profession and many people laugh at the idea of even trying it, but hear me out.
I'm trying to dedicate my skills on one ship. This ship would have to be capable of solo PvP and deal enough damage to break tanks while still having plenty utility to probe down logged pods, fit ECCM (since I'll be outnumbered) and run a good tank aswell. My target would be everyday small gate blockades of 2-3 ships with sentry guns on my side.
The Dominix seems like a perfect choice but i'm also looking at the Eos as its slightly faster while retaining a big dronebay and many slots to play with. I'm not particularly interested in NosDomis either, this would be blaster fitted.
Other ships i'm looking at are the Hyperion and Tempest to fill the same role.
Lets hear your opinion then

Eos sounds good, excellent tank, nice damage and faster than the dominix. A covops scout would be useful aswell for intel on whoever you are hunting and probing down stuff. -----

If you're going to train to a command ship, why not go for pure DPS and fly the Astarte instead? Don't get me wrong, I'm a Domi-flying drone *****, but I would think that the ability to knock something down fast before the cavalry showed up would be ideal, and drones aren't the quickest killers in the world, even with high skills.

hyperion or astarte imo tempest is nice too and probably the cheaper choice, eos have a mean tank but as said drones are slow and you would probably want to collect the bounties as fast as possible

Surely a max-skilled Eos far outdamages a max-skills Astarte? They both have the same number of gun hardpoints, same PG and the EOS has 50TF more CPU. But the Eos can field 5 Heavies whereas the Astarte will more than likely go for 5 Meds.
Granted the Astarte has a double damage bonus on its guns, but then again they stop firing under heavy NOS.
Just noticed also that the EOS has better resists too.

Bounty hunting requires to kill pods. You'll need an ultrafast lock to get a pod. This means sensorboosted frig/interceptor.
Either train for these and have somebody else with you to kill the ships or train for, say, commandships to kill ships and bring a friend in an interceptor for the pods. Or train for CovOp/Recon to find & catch your targets and bring 2 friends for above mentioned roles. :D
I guess it boils down to "solo _bounty_ hunting doesn't really work". To be able to kill ships of any kind I'd train for HACs as best compromise between locking times and kill ability.

Nope, the Astarte out damages it by around 200 DPS with a pure gank setup.

100%
You gotta kill the pods for bounties this means fast locks or bubbles.

you dont need a fast lock to kill pods.
All you need is to be point blank to the target ship when it blows.
and activate the smartbombs :)
