Why are certain rig components only made available in certain systems? Surely it would make more sense if components were dropped by ship type rather than where they happened to be.
All the BPOs are in all systems, so why not the components? Surely limiting certain components to certain ares is going to stunt the market and just result in folk having to do a stack of mindless, boring travel to get the bits they need.

Rig parts mirror mod drops from certain rats.
Rats who use Hyrbid Weapons, drop Hybrid Components.
That's doesn't make sense to you?

Yes, it does. And those rats are in all regions, so the components should be.

I don't get what you're saying then. If you want rats that drop X to make a rig for X weapon upgrade, kill rats that use X.
How is it dependant on region? I haven't seen aything other than the parts are dependant on the rat they come from.
Such as Blood drop alot of Nanites and Serps drop alot of Lorenz Fluids.

I do. There's virtually no missle rig components in my neck of the woods, but plenty of rats firing missiles.
2 regions away there's plenty of them.

Some stuff should mainly drop in low sec and 0.0 and be rare in high sec tbh. Then more high sec farming would increase the demand for low sec components. Rewards in high sec would fall and in low sec rise as a consequence. Same with minerals. To much high mins in high sec or loot that refines into high mins in high sec is just a bad idea. That should be reserved for low sec and 0.0 as a mechanism that balances high sec, low sec and 0.0 and gives an incentive to leave high sec. -------------------------- Post with your main !!!111 |

Kill bigger rats. I don't even bother with Frigs and rarely bother with cruisers.

The rig drops seem to be based on the race design. Caldari like missiles so they drop missiles (and shields) Minnies use projectiles, so they drop proj (and propulsion) etc.
So while they all USE missiles, shields, AB's, armor - they do not all drop the items that go with them.
Please DO NOT change this! I think the drops are just about right for now in my opinion. If you dump all types into each region it would take much longer to put enough togethor to build a certain rig. Make the local kind and trade/sell them for the kind you really want. Not so hard. I am not an Alt, I am punctuation. |

The balance between high/low/null with regards to salvage is also ok. Bigger ships drop more salvage. There are more big ships in 0.0 than in Empire. Therefore 0.0 is more profitable.
People who spend all of their time in 0.0 are still under the impression that making their space more profitable will somehow balance the game. Little short of a rifle to the back of the head will encourage the bulk of Empire dwellers out.
