So i created this character 10 hours before the update... but i created him using a eve package, so i got a cerebral accelerator.. Now new players start with 400k sp instead of 50k... What can i do? delete and start another toon? but i loose the cerebral accelerator... Thanks |

Thanks I'm am pretty sure you will get some unallocated SP, since your character has been created 2 weeks prior to the release of the patch.
They didn't release these SP points yet, probably some database issue. But they will eventually give out these points to the valid characters.
CCP Rise wrote:Hi! This post is maybe a bit late but hopefully you will forgive me. TL;DR here is very simple, in Vanguard we are bumping starting skills for all newly created characters from 50k to roughly 400k. The goal here is to get new players over as many early barriers to gameplay as possible. By throwing in a whole bunch of prereqs and adding to the basic support skill amounts we are hoping new players have faster access to a wider range of activities right out of the box. I was going to type out the full list of skills but you know what, you guys are pretty much better at everything than us and have already created an imgur album of the skill list so I'll just give you that! It only has the list for one faction but they are almost identical except for a couple minor changes to support skills because of differences in weapon system. IMGUR ALBUM OF SKILLSOne note: if you made your character in the last few days you will have less SP than people who created after Vanguard, that's not good! Some time soon after Vanguard (maybe a week or so) we will hand out 300k unallocated SP to all characters created in the two weeks leading up to Vanguard release. Sorry for having to wait a little but we gotchu.Let us know if you see any big problems with the skill list here or any other feedback. Thanks! And as always, thanks for taking care of all the noobs out there. So basically, you just go on with your usual business, and eventually you will get some additional SP points you can just distribute on whatever skills you wish. |

getting free sp is way better than getting the skills in the way they give you. but that's just my opinion.

yep - with bonus SP you can throw it into skills that are hard to train with your current mapping/implants and get quite a boost in those personally hard to train areas.

For the same reason we're not all getting some free million ISKs.
A large amount would make you happy but ruin the game, and a small amount would be "meh" for most people and **** off the few who are vehemently opposed to the idea.
Also, realize that if everyone gets millions of SP's, then all the veterans can create throw-away alts, go shoot newbies with them, then delete and re-create, for no repercussions. We're already attacking industrialists and traders and mission-runners just for fun, imagine if we could do it with bigger ships and no repercussions. You would be worse off.
Everyone put in their time and played the game on and off, and they currently have the SP that they have. You can do that too; build the character that you wish - the game lets you be useful and actually successfully PVP vs. the veterans from a few days in; you don't need the millions of SPs to win. And if you really want the millions of SPs but don't want to wait, you can buy a character from the Character Bazaar sub-forum. |

Because the point of this was to improve the NPE, and we are not new players... |

Because industrialists traders and mission runners are all new players. I agree that more sp would create issues with alts, but ganking is not the problem here. Recycling negative sec status characters is already a bannable offense.

Hi all, is there any update on receiving these free skill points? My account is 10 days old and I could really use some more skills. |

Just bumping my question. I understand there are 350K skill point available for recently-joined players but can't figure out how to obtain them. |

As you can see in the first reply above, you don't have to do anything. Simply wait for CCP to give all 2-week characters the 350k points; when they do, you will see them in your Character Properties in-game, in the Skills section, above all the skills, in green text. Then you can just right-click any skill and choose "allocate skillpoints", to put some of the skillpoints into that skill. Repeat until you use up all 350k of them. |
