About how much ammo would I need for a small railgun in one outting? Also, how would I escape pirate sector with my booty if there's people camping the gate? And one a rating of one to ten, how much better would the Caldari condor frigate be than the starting ship? Thanks.

Condors are paper thin, You escape gate camps by docking and logging off then they get bored.

Much more fun to dock, go afk. Silly people will sit outside the station and wait

Your answer didn't make much sense...

Why all the threads basicly asking about the same questions?

Ok...maybe they're not exactly PIRATE questions, but by an "outting" with a railgun, I meant PvP.

You can easily fit all those questions you had in one thread though...

Pirating in the starting ship is a bad idea. I tried to do it once purely as a laugh.
An iteron PASSIVELY TANKED me. That hurt my ego, so I now stick to ships that can actually do >10 dps
Condor isn't really much better either, anything with guns will simply kill you. Your best bet is a rocket kestrel, 4 malkuths should be cheap enough, and you can choose to spread the damage types or focus on one (if you're in caldari space I'd reccomend shooting em/explosive)
But seriously. Condor: bad idea. Starting ship: oh god terrible idea if you actually want to fight people.
And as for the gatecamps on the inbound, you warp to zero and laugh.
If they're catching the outbound... well, nanofibers ftw.

Is this for real?
Ok i've been out in a group of ppl pirating in starter ships but it was only for a laugh i don't think it's really designed for combat. any t1 frigate is hugely better.
also avoiding gate camps is easy in a frig. if u want to be really safe fill ur lows with nanofibres and u will almost insta warp.

Edited by: Plaetean on 23/12/2006 14:03:19 To answer the question, I'd say for one railgun take 400-500 charges. But don't use the condor for combat. Stick nanos/inert stabs on it, and use it to take loot to high sec. Through low sec, you'll never get caught in it (if you warp to 0). Use a kestrel/merlin for pirating if you're only trained in caldari.
EDIT: and btw, when pirating you're fighting actual players, not just NPCs that were made to be killed by your noobship. So using the worst possible ship in the game isn't exactly a good idea, you won't have any targets.

For PvP it depends on what weapons I'm using at the time. For launchers, I usually carry about 5 or 6 full reloads for each launcher. For turrets, 10 to 15 full reloads. There no sense in carrying a ton of extra ammo, only to lose it all when you do get killed.

Welcome to Eve-online!
As a new player, you've probably noticed that you have a corp chat which has many members in it. While some of these people are new to the game such as yourself, some can also be a valuable resource for questions such as the ones you have posed here.
When you do not use that resource and choose to post here, however, it wastes my bandwidth. Please be mindful of other forum users. For instance - in the time it took to load this thread, I could have loaded 2-3 pages laden with naked people for my viewing pleasure.
Thank you for your time.
Also, what Kirex said.

If you mean Ammo in the T1 caldari low lvl frigate sense, id take about 20x the launchers/guns max load for a test, if you cant break someone in 20 reloads well....
Condor? nah (rating 1-2) at least use a kestrel (not much higher but better), more damage for you there and till cheap.
Escape a gatecamp in 0.0 can be easy or hard, its all about scanning the gate or doing a quick warpin/out at mass range from an unnatural direction (gate to gates silly as they could have a bubble which drags you out of warp). Goto an obscure planet which isnt in direct line of 2 gates and warp to 0 from there (see if any planets are directly above/below the gates is handy).
Escape lowsec is easy, just warp to 0 from anywhere, currently bubbles cant be used there, so as long as your aggrovation timers not on, just jump to safety and bail.
Pick targets carefully, people will bait you, fool you, try to annoy you to make you make a mistake, keep your cool and think, know whats around you and whos in system with you, paranoia is your friend to safety while hunting.
Solo T1 Frig piracy will be an experience, its a lot harder now than when some of us started, and above all else youll need a lot of time and patience. Also having a very rich uncle moneybags ingame is helpfull.
Happy hunting.
