Hi,
I've patched to 1253 this morning and after logging on I got this error message: No disk in drive, please insert disc \Device\Harddisk2\DR7
I downloaded the game patched up to 1253 from CCP page. I reinstalled Eve and I logged on fine. When I tried to switch from fullscreen (the default setting) to window mode, I got the same error message, which forces me to shut down Eve.
Does this happen to anyone else?
thx
PS: I have filed a bug report for that

I downloaded the full version too, but not had any problems (so far) playing in windowed mode.

I've had this problem in 1246 and 1253 and reported it back in 1246 along w/ the dmp file and dx setup file. still wasnt fixed in 1253 when it came out. so until they fix the windowed mode in the latest "recomended" client patch, i'll be running 2 versions of Eve, one in 1238 for normal play and one in 1253 when I need the security officer abilities and need the AP waypoint fix.

simple solution, insert any CD into the drive, even an empty one. it worked for me when it asked for a CD. ********** Everyone deserves to die. You go first.

If you are having this problem could you send us an email to [email protected] with a short description on how this happens. If you could include prefs.ini and info from DirectX. And if you can get this in to LogServer log that would be great.
This is really a strange problem and in no way are we linking any code to the CD-ROM drive.

Edited by: Deloup Drakar on 28/11/2003 21:10:55 Major Gormur, consider it done tonight. DX logs, dmp file, logserver, heck even a SS of the error window.
I sent in a bug report in 1246 about this and included the dx log and the dmp files, didnt do the logserver thing however. even had a response from a GM about it, he told me to update my drivers for directx and for video card....which are and is stated in the dx log.

Edited by: Reiisha on 28/11/2003 21:22:27 I think thats a worm/virus you got there, not a fault of eve itself.... at least it looks like it (had a few friends with such a problem, it wasnt related to any game)
It works fine here btw

I posted the same problem (as well as a bug report) with 1246 and just posted it again in this forum. It happens to my machine but has nothing to do with playing in windowed mode (oh and having a CD in the CD drive doesn't change anything). I'm wondering if people associate the problem with windowed mode just because the error message gets masked behind the game in full screen...
I will run the log server and send the log too just in case having more than one helps figuring what the problem is. I'm pretty happy that a "debugger" is being interested in this bug but... hey... You know, I posted a bug report about this error message at least a week ago...

Hellmar was nice enough to give some feedback about the problem (or a very similar one) in this thread.
