I found some people listed on eveboard.com as having 29 or 28 Willpower. (Scroll wayyyy down on the main page). This doesn't mean there are +6 or +7 implants somewhere out there, does it? I'm trying to think of other causes of how someone can get a Willpower higher than 27 showing.
- Someone hasn't logged in many, many years, since a time where there was a setup that allowed you have an attribute above 27 - An item that used to give a boost more than +5, but quietly got bumped down to +5, but some property or some-such wasn't updated properly. - Ingenius / evil hacking - Some rare item in the game I'm not aware of...
Just curious what you all thought.

Early, Original Achura (possibly others too) when backgrounds/history/ancestry had an impact on initial attributes. If remapped out of it i strongly suspect you can't retain the benefits.
IIRC there were +6? & +7 implants.
If you really wanted to be sure i'd poke around the waybackmachine's archive of eveonline.com |

If min max your map you get 29 of given stat with +5s. But there is a database entry for +6 and +7 implants. |

You have 17 base attribute points of any attribute. You have a total of 14 remappable attribute points of which a max of 10 can be put to any one attribute. Currently +5's are the max implant in game that I know of. Your current max SP / hour is 2700. You train at one skill point per SP of your skill's primary attribute and half of a skill point per SP of the skill's secondary attribute.
17 + 10 = 27 + 5 = 32 (max primary attribute)
14 - 10 = 4
17 + 4 = 21 + 5 = 26 (max secondary attribute)
(32+(26/2)*60=2700 (max skill points per hour) |

See my edit. eveboard shows players holding a record of having the highest willpower in the game without implants as 29. A few have 28.
Since the base is 17, and max applicable aditional points is 10, the natural highest number, without implants, that a skill can get to is 27.
I was asking what exists, or existed at one point, that would allow some players to have a current natural willpower of 28 or even 29 with no implants. (This would be 33 or 34 _with_ +5's.)

Yes, that existed at some point.
6? years ago, character creation consisted of picking a race, a school to graduate from, and a degree from that school, and then the computer would allocate predetermined attributes based on those choices. Some choices were considered "bad", as the character would have a lot of charisma allocated. Others resulted in a charisma of 3, with substantially more points added to willpower and intelligence.
Currently if you go into the attribute remap, it's impossible to remove so many points from your Charisma to bring it down to a value of 3, but back then, picking the Caldari Achura race and I forget which school and degree, resulted in characters who could train faster for combat or industry. The male Achura portraits were rather ugly (this was also before the portrait system was updated to the current full body avatar system), but it was possible to create nice looking female Achura.
It's partly why Caldari characters outnumbered the other races by 2:1 or something like that.
I've not heard of +6 or +7 implants. |

achuras could get 3 charisma and pretty good distribution in the other stats so a lot of people have characters like that, how many have remapped since? I couldn't tell you, but I would imagine there are at least a few characters that haven't remapped and have funky attributes.

I know you didn't mean it, but you realise you just wrote down that 27 equals 32 right? |

Heh.
17 + 10 = 27, +5 = 32. That fixes it, right?

Better, but no cigar... A comma separates two equalities, so now you're claiming that +5 equals 32.
(17 + 10) + 5 = 27 + 5 = 32 or 17 + 10 = 27, 27 + 5 = 32.
In the first line: the parentheses are optional, as is the middle step. |
