Can you fit more than one hull upgrade to a single ship i.e can you fit 2 upgades to improve speed. thx

think 8 inertia stabilizer work better in my humble opinium

No, 8 nanofibers would be better. Stacking penalty ftw.

÷hh? i didnt experienced any stacking stuff. 2 inertias make me turn aroudn pretyt quick and entering warp. according to the description it loweres the mass aswell giving me even another bonus

The mass reduction of instabs has a stacking penality. So it's actually best to combine instabs and nanos. 4 nanos/4 instabs or 5 nanos/3 instabs should work best.

Edited by: Baleorg on 23/12/2006 20:26:56 i was thinking more like 1-3 slots for those i dont see stacking penaltys.usually they show it when htey do the stacking but.. i dont think i care about the mass reduction penatly.. the agility bonus seems nice
some good seztup for occator/viator (viator, i use soem additional warpstabs 1 inertia, for highcost low volume stuff)
but.. what do use for an occator to "get trough" with lets say 16k of cargo. or at least 15 or 12

nah.. u wanna mix and mach nanos and inertia stabs...
after 3-4 inertia stabs ur ship wount get much of speed boost... only agility... that means it turns faster...
id fit 4 nanos and 4 inetias... and if u use lower nrs... i think its best to keep em 50/50

Nanos have an identical agility bonus, so once the mass reduction of instabs has no real effect anymore they give a higher boost that those.

great.. imagine 2 or 3 slots
what you recon to "get as fast as possible away from that spot, even if it means 181¦ turning" ?

Mind if I confirm something?
Just to set it clear first of all.
Inertial stabs - Mass Nanofibers - Speed Both - Agility
The only stacking penalty is on mass.
So after 4 inertial stabs, it's pretty much the case that they only give agility. And unlike heatsinks (for example) where the stacking penalty is somewhat offset by your DPS increasing, inertial stabs work in reverse, in that your ship loses less mass with the 2nd one, even without the stacking penalty, than the first.
By that logic I'd say that 2 inertial stabs would probably be the most efficient, and after that nanofibers, unless you've got 6 or so slots, and maybe then the third will become useful, but never the fourth.
