I am very surprised by the faction list for the research agents, according to the news on icom:
Faction:
Amarr Empire 31
Caldari State 73
Gallente Federation 88
Minmatar Republic 48
The Servant Sisters of EVE 2
Thukker Tribe 8
Of the factions in empire space, one important is missing: Ammatar. Is this some kind of punishment because Ammatar agents were giving perception implants ???

My understanding is that these research agnets are different kind of agents with whom you'll have to start all over again.
So there is no consequnce for you doing Ammatar agent missions as it hard to believe that i have 22 of 88 gallente research agents already (number i have of my old agents).
Also if you plan on looking for specific item BPs like minmatar tech level 2 ships you should probably start working with minmatar research agent as i doubt that you would get one from Amarr agent.
So no its not punishment but fact that there is 4 main races and they got their own ships and rest of modules can be used by all.
I doubt that you would like to spend 300-500 missions for ammatar agent in hope of good BP when in fact you could never get ship BP from him/her.
IMO this is great as finaly people with good standing with certain factions will have advantage of aquiring rare BP from thier factions agents.
You will have to be very friendly with caldari state to get good research team to research tech level 2 Scorpion etc.

Why should people who have good agents continue to dominate in the next patch. Some factions/corps are planned to have a ridiculous advantage over others while a large majority have no purpose whatsoever. As far as I know concord and ded, supposedly the most hi tech of all corps, has absolutly nothing high tech about their agents, this total lack of continuity jsut biases new items towards those who already spent their time talking to an npc agent in an mmrpg. go figure... way to go ccp

What are you talking about ppl with good agents continueing to dominate? Agent people dont dominate anything, nothing compared to people NPC farming or battleship mining.
Also, where did you get the idea that concord and ded are the most hi tech? Whats that got to do with anything.
I'll give you lack of continuity, but they have to start somewhere because right now, not much makes sense at all! It cant be worse.

To clear this one up really quick, Ammatar are supposed to have research agents. Will be fixed in the next redeployment on Chaos.
I think the SOE agents were however just garbage on my local DB that messed up the query involved. SOE doesn't have research agents, unless I'm mistaken.

Supposedly Concord has technologies from all the races, translating into a more sophisticated technology for that corp. Concord ships are highly sophisticated so why arent their agents.

Excuse me for asking dumb question but how do you know which agents are research agents? i got a lvl3 agent then gave up for a while but i have a tonne of various lvl 1's but cant seem to figure which are research types and which are standard agents.

CONCORD has what the other empires want them to have, CONCORD is there to serve the empires, not competing with them as a seperate empire, such as doing research. CONCORDs resources come from the empires, not making its own. Its like a UN with teeth.
