I just watched an old Star trek movie, which made me remember the game star trek online. So I looked it up. It turns out though, that the official site is like the worst site ever, so thats why I turn here, to the trustworthy Eve community.
1. Anyone have any info on this game, like when it will be out, how it will be played, etc?
2. Is there a trailer out for it? Couldnt find one on their site, but as I said, that site sucks, so CBA to look for long.
Thanks!

I don't think ST:O will be able to hold a candle to EVE, but it will probably gather a fair amount of subscribers regardless. Too early to say much about this upcoming MMORPG otherwise.

Don't worry Patch, I saw that one :D
From what I hear about Star Trek Online, there will be multiple people taking part as the crew of a starship. Don't ask me how they can expect a chief engineer to log on every day with nothing more to look forward to than aligning the warp coils all day. I wonder how many people will eject the warp core for a laugh when they get bored. I reckon the crew will be continually whining to get boarded, so they can play a little first-person shooter (if that's even how it works :p)
But my favourite part is, since there are multiple players per single ship, we could be seeing the fleet lag of a 300-ship eve battle in a 30-ship ST:O one -omg-
Sig removed, please keep it under 24,000 bytes, please email [email protected] if you have any questions - Xorus |

I imagine some ceo's of corps in eve would love to be captain of their very own borg ship full of mindless player drones, their wet dream come true

From what my brother has researched on it(he's crazy about Star Trek...) the players can be any part of the ship crew. If your ship has no players to fill up all required crew posts, NPC crewmembers will take their places. By having actual players as a crew instead of NPC's, your ship will perform better in combat, or whatever you set out to do.

If they made StarTrek online like eve then i would more than likly buy it. StarFleet, Klingons, Romulans, Cardasions. Maybe the Borg but cant really see some 1 justifying them being playable. 0.0 could the neutral zones. Then CCP could sue them for copyright but i still think a EvE/StarTrek Hybrird would b awsome.
