Is the stabber any good at this? Was thinking about using this setup for some fun cheap kills
4x 220mm II 2x standard missile launcher
LSE II 20km scram 10mn MWD II
gyrostab II nanofiber istab

Change nanofiber for second istab for more speed AND maneuverability.
I'm using basically that, only no t2, and now I'm using 2 local hull inerts and a local hull overdrive in the lows. Proceed to act like an interceptor on boosters.

Change the MWD II for a Y-T. You won't have the cap for a MWD II. Change the standard launchers to assaults or heavies.

Edited by: Mila Prestoc on 23/12/2006 23:24:33 The difference between t2 std launchers and t2 assault is 6 dps, not worth 100 pg unless you have no whereelse to use it.
You have to go to heavies to get a real benifit over standard missile launchers. -------------------------

There's no reason not to fit at least assaults on a 220 II stabber. You should have the left over grid to fit even heavies if you desire.

I use this and so far it has not failed me (unless im supossed to survive a 5 man gank):
x4 180mm x2 med nos
x1 mwd x1 webber x1 20km disruptor
x1 DCU x2 gyro
I dont like the LSE nor the inertial stabs on this ship simply because i like the small sig this ship has as it is, on a nanophoon sig doesnt matter cuz its already a fat tub of lard. In either case w/i nanos or Inerts this ship can pull off great speeds.

Of course, i'm pointing that out for any lower skilled pilots.
I fit: 4x 220 T2's + 2x HML's 10mn MWD + 20km Scram + T2 LSE 2x Gyro + 1x Inertia Stab
and a Warrior of DOOOOOM -------------------------

My ideal T2 setup would be
4x Dual 180mm II 2x Assault Missile Launcher II
LSE II 20km scram Y-D
3x Gyrostabs II
However, since Medium Projectile V is 5 days away from me, and I can only use Small T2 Proj. guns, here's what I have atm.
4x 200Mmm II 2x Assault Missile Launcher II
Web 20km scram Y-D
1600mm Rolled Tungsten Plate 2x istabs
It's something different. With Barrage S and decent gunnery skills, it hits up to 10km, and makes people boggle. Everyone and their mother knows that Stabbers are shield-tanked, and once the shield are gone they're screwed. This setup is for aspiring tech1 ghetto pilots like me who don't have everything tech2, and quite funny to pull the surprise on inty pilots especially.

No, no, no, NO.
Do not plate up a speed tanked light cruiser which relies on its manuverablity to survive.
If you want plates, get a Rupture. -----

;) I've already done the figures, mate. Despite the mass addition with the plate, the 2x istabs compensate the mass pretty nicely to just under the Stabber's stock 10,000,000 kg mass.
Maybe I forgot to mention earlier, but the "alternate" setup is a stop-gap solution of sorts to a 4 month-old ghetto character like me who can't use everything t2, and can't afford losing it either.
Just something funny, odd and non-cookie cutter to throw into the mix. ---------------

I fly minmitar very rarely, but when I do, this is usually it... 3.2km/s even with poo skills and crap gear, just imagine if you're an actual minnie pilot. Gotta aggree with hauler ganking, it does a good job at that for sure! ------ Currently stationed in Iraq, 280 days left to go! |

Afaik you wont be able to fit 220's and heavies.... i'm not sure about the 180's and heavies though The first setup posted is the one i use, the small missiles are for frigate ganking if you fit a web instead of LSE you might aswell just self-destruct... its a very light ship with no defences so if you get hit for 10 seconds you will fall miserably! ------------------------------------------------

I feel that stabber is the most fun ship in the game... too bad its a cruiser. This is from the ships I can fly only of course... I hear the megathron is lots of fun too. Cant fly it though. :)

Edited by: Graz''zt Khan on 24/12/2006 11:58:41 Hi,
I've used 2 slightly different set ups. Not sure which I like better. #1- Sometimes the extra dps is nice to have. Its nice for attacking smaller targets NPC or players alike. This set up also doesn't require alot of skill points or isks, and if you're just running around by yourself or with a couple friends its nice.
4 x dual 180mm I 2 x assault missle launcher I (standards will work if you don't have the skills in engy, electronics, weap upgrade, and adv weap upgrade)
10mn MWD I 20km scram MSE I
2 x nanofiber 1 x shield power relay
#2- This set up, while still useable on NPC's, seems better suited for players. Again it can work for solo pvp against smaller targets (and indys, miners, etc.) and doesn't require much for SP and isks to make.
4 x dual 180mm I 2 x med nos (substitute 3 x small nos and 3 x dual 180mm I if lacking in engy, electronics, weap upgrade, and adv weap upgrade)
1 x MWD I 1 x mse I 1 x 20km scram
3 x nanofibers

I like this. It's weird as hell, but my calculator claims the inertia stabs really will offset the plate. Only problem is your sig radius will be the same as every other cruiser.

You should be able to fit a LSE on the first setup fairly easily (if not switch out an assault launcher or two for standard launchers, an extra 900 or so shield is better than an extra 3 second rof), and I'd switch out the SPR for either an instab or gyro - the idea is to let your speed & falloff keep you alive - not passive regen.
As for the second setup, I really wouldn't bring nosses along with my stabber if I was solo - fine in gangs i guess, if you want to be hovering around web range I suggest you use a rupture were you can actually tank.
And try switching a nano to an instab for a little extra mwd speed
