This is my honest opinion. The new menu is all nice and such, doesn't take a long loading time to open the sovereignity tab.
But when you zoom out the map gets completely borked. System/region names dissappear for a few minutes, the stars dissappear in the too dark background. The autopilot route doesn't always display's on the screen (the lines doesn't the names on the left of the screen never dissappear). Zooming in and out is also borked to my likings.
On the other hand CCP did a great job on the seamless map and system view, that deserves to be mentioned. But the galactic map was better qua visibility pre kali.

*sigh*
Agreed mate, I'm fed up with it.
Seems to be near impossible to have the autopilot route as the only lines displayed. Touch a random system while changing zoom level and every jump in the region lights up.

Tried zooming out without your mouse scroll wheel yet? When I try, it zooms all the way out to the map. This means that if I want to play EVE while on the couch or something (I play on a laptop), I have to drag the mouse around with me, or have my field of view filled by my ship.

Yeah, it's kinda annoying now. I hate how it has to revert back to its original state when you exit it. I also hate how they removed the system map from the scanner -_-

Oh yeah, and why is the scroll wheel control for the zoom level counter intuitive.
In every other game or application I've used, scroll up means zoom in and scroll down means zoom out..
Go go CCP logic...

i want the old one back, i prefer it running when i press f10, hate it constantly running in the background, it is nice and that, but should have a option to put the old one back.
i like to see the lines zoomed out.

But you have to admit it sure is pretty.......... and worthless.
I'm sorry CCP I know the guys that worked on the map did a lot of good hard work on it. Too bad they didn't play the game more to see what a pain the map is now.

Why did they flip the map upside down for the default view? And now when viewing the map every time you move the mouse and it goes over a star a stat screen pops up and obscures what you are looking at. Most annoying.
