I could probably say something in this thread, but there doesn't seem to be much to talk about. You linked exactly the same thing on the WoW side. Ooookay, so we're going to discuss how they'll say the EXACT same things we're saying?
Although I'll go ahead and be the devil's advocate and say that WoW is a good game. In fact, I'm still subscribed. But will that make me quit EVE? Heck no, the two are very different, but still very enjoyable games.

jsut for S***'s and giggles i will state a comparison having played both wow and eve.
Career paths. Eve is by far more varied. after the begining it is cery possible to have a career as a producer and never leave the station. where as no matter what in WoW you will be killing NPCs.
PVP. WoW you pvp for points. Eve you PVP for control of mining areas, blockade someone's in a space station. Does WoW pvp ever change the game ? not really where as Eve pvps empires crumble and new allainces form.
quest: Wow quest start with the Oh brave adventurer who is going to save the kingdom, bring me 5 rat's tails. Where as Eve's quest arent so grand in claim they seem to fit more with 10,000 people doing them non stop.
the market system goes both ways. Eve's economy is 90% player driven. where as WoW' is 25%. however in WoW certain things like settign up auctions is easier. this is also countered by the fact binded items are non transferable even if they are un usaeable by you.
secondary ecnomy. search eve-online on ebay and 690 items appear. search world of warcraft and 5089 items appear for sell. would appear Ebaying is more of a problem in wow however wow has 5 million players while eve has 165,000 players. wow has .0010178 ebay items per subcriber Eve has .004181818 ebay items per subscriber.
this is likely due to wow's item bind system which also limits the player econmy.
End result though the two games are in two differnt genre's I myself am sick of the fantasy genre. I find the sci fi Genre more open ended and altogether more fun. If i wanted to do the stuff in WoW i would simply go join the SCA, or amp guard.

meh ive never understood the hate for wow here, i see it as a good thing for the MMORPG industry as its made them a mainstream format.

But I don't want MMOs to be mainstream. Here's some math:
Mainstream = More players = More lag = Bad.
mainstream = bad.
MMOs + WoW = mainstream.
Therefore, WoW = bad.

as games become more "mainstream" they get greedy and dumb down the pvp to appease the masses.

because the last thing a company would want to do is raise profits by attracting more customers Don't kid yourself, CCP is greedy. All successful companies are greedy. CCP isn't in this business so that a few people can enjoy this game and stroke their egos thinking that since they play a "hard" game they have more rights to life than those that play "dumbed down" games-- they are in it so a lot of people can enjoy this game.

Reminds me of a pic I used to have on my background and lost in my last reinstall, showing mathematically why woman is the root of all evil. Seemed to make sense, and always made me giggle
