In the spirit of Christmas, Axiom Empire is leaving Impass and leaving it in the hands of -A-. We have had some good battles with -A- and some not so good but overall they have been respectable opponents. Enjoy Impass -A-
Now I know many people are going to ask why. Well, many reasons to be honest. DDC has lived in Impass for 2+ years now. Eve has changed alot since we first arrived and many of us haven't taken the time to look around at the new things in Eve. We want to change that. But the main reason for DDC and Axe leaving Impass is I am so done dealing with POSs. Running 60+ POSs is not fun, its work and we want to get back to having fun.
This is not to say -A- didn't play a part. They most certainly did. Because if we weren't filling POSs, we had to deal with -A-. We could have continued to stretch out this war with -A- but instead of continuing this grind, we decided to make a change for the New Year.
Axe will be restructuring and rebuilding in the short term. Already 2 corps have left Axe to make their own way, GODS follow their own path and EoG have new masters in -A-. Privateer Alliance has a war dec on us, so they will be seeing lots of us very shortly. What we do in the future is not 100% decided. We have had offers from a number of entities but we have not made a decision as to where or what we are going to do. That decision will be made shortly after the new year. On Jan 1, Axe will reset all standings to all entities. Friends and Enemies alike will be set to 0.0 and Axe will follow an NBSI policy in all regions.
Merry Christmas Eve. To the south, we leave you a lump of coal, -A- in Impass. To everyone else, you may get some new targets shortly

We'll be doing full-scale 0.0-style fleet movements through high-sec as soon as everyone's back from vacation. I don't think Jita is ready for us. If you know where the Privateers are hiding, send me an EVEMail and I'll send you some isk. Now I just need to find some way to shove a mothership into Amarr!

We left AXE bcs of the logistics in empire (we didnt want to move freighters with escord in empire). We pulled out 2-3 days b4 the other corps bcs of the xmas and bcs of we could have done it after that point.
We had our fun in impass. Made some new friends (all AXE corps) and new enemies (-A- we are looking forward to fight you again).
We wish every1 happy xmas and fly safe with the your future plans. ----------------------------------

Much respect to .-A-. After a break from the game, I joined a corp in AXE just in time to see AXE lose it's momentum. Bad timing I guess.
I expected to see much of what has been described as "lame tactics" from the guys in .-A-., but truthfully I saw none of that. No loggoffskis, not shuttle spamming at POSs, etc... What I did see was great tactical moves, overwhelming force, smart gang composition, and most of all - commitment. They would all log in like clockwork to finish off POSs, even in their "off" times. I am not exactly a fanboi of .-A-., but man do they pack a punch. They have earned Impass and it is with the utmost humility that I leave the space. I was there for less than a month, but we had some great times out there.
To those who haven't faced .-A-. yet, do not underestimate them.
Merry Christmas everyone.

They like to sit in Oursualert III station shying away from a 3v1 matches while they don't object 8v1 gangbang. Had some nice fights with them but they run away too much for my taste. Sounds like AXE and -A- had a lot of respect for each other in the fight, how they conducted themselves toward each other, all around.
Too bad ASCN had such smack talkin', exploit hounds that couldn't resist every opportunity that is imaginable to cheat in the BoBettes. Certainly would have made for a more fun experience, even in losing.

On a general level, most alliance members didn't believe that for one minute, same as the "Pirates of the burning sea" rubbish that was spouted.
The stuff coming out of HC was getting more and more ludicrous as time went on but now Virtuozzo has taken the helm some semblance of reality may set in, though that may be too late as the alliance may not be about for that much longer.

Damn. Lately things sucked, because when we play on AAA TZ we are enormously overwhelmed. And when we are on our own TZ we did crap, because we were playing a defensive war.
Anyway, GL to AXE (the rest of it) EOG initially wanted to stay and fight but the 442 assault AAA did yesterday (or the day before)...

Huh. Looks like internal estimations of AXE not lasting until the New Year were accurate after all.
I'm far from pleased to see this happen despite the snide comments I've levelled at members of AXE leadership over the last while, but I can't say I'm entirely surprised...wars of attrition are hell on morale and activity numbers, unless your membership has unusually strong esprit de corps. aAa strike me as an extremely patient bunch; this makes them supremely well-adapted to the current state of EVE territorial warfare. The fact that they're fearsome fleet combatants helps, too. So good work and full credit to them, even though I'd much rather see them dead in a gutter somewhere.
Maybe we'll see BoB vs aAa in the near future once ASCN is done getting rolled up and out of Feyth...would be one hell of a fight, s'for sure. ------ Quartermaster, No Quarter "There is no problem that cannot be solved by the judicious application of violence." |

RA and aAa are (probably more than...) friendly, RA and the Goons are all bumpfuzzly, D2 and aAa have a positive relationship...probably not much of a jump from there to tie it all together. ------ Quartermaster, No Quarter "There is no problem that cannot be solved by the judicious application of violence." |

Congratz AAA, you had the longest breath in this war.
The war was without smacktalk from both sides, that's the way a game should be played.
EOG wishes Axiom all the best and luck in their future journeys. EOG will leave Axiom after christmas and we will start a new alliance.
There may be joining very impressive corporations (they all exist longer than 3 years) into the new EOG alliance.
For now EOG will not hijack the thread concerning the new alliance and goals.
I will make an announcement about this after xmas or even after new year.
Merry Christmas Eve Community!

Originally by: Cadiz Huh. Looks like internal estimations of AXE not lasting until the New Year were accurate after all.
"AXE not lasting"? Abandoning our home region because of an essentially un-winnable war is not the same thing as the collapse of the alliance. As I'm sure most people on this forum know, groups are held together by more than just the territory they happen to share.
In any case, as Steel points out, we certainly could have dragged on this conflict a lot longer, but it wouldn't have been pretty for any of us. I'd go so far as to say this is the best move to save AXE as an alliance.
Anyway, GF to -A- and happy christmas. You were a hell of an opponent. -------------------------- There is only one +6 sword of WTFPWN in Eve, and only the lag is allowed to equip it. |

When we left AXE -A- never fought with huge material but with great focus and alarm clocks, well maybe we should make CCP integrating a remotely-engage-your-alarm-clock-feature into the game which is activated after your trial time to make peopl feel what it is about when you join a 0.0 alliance.
However it surprises me and surely I didn't expect that after all I heard the last few weeks. A tremendous change in the south making it more interesting than it ever was.

Congratulations are in order for everyone who flew in this campaign - the ghost wing guys especially (who merged into Collective before the campaign was launched, and did not have the preparation of the rest of AAA) made me proud every time they flew into battle, which was often. I hope Axe enjoyed being shot as much as we enjoyed shooting them :)
Kez: You and your ceptors were the single biggest headache for me in the entire campaign. How fast were you going at max? 5km/s+ most of the time, I'm guessing..
Kabayn: Still want to do that cruiser 1v1 with you sometime...
Axe in general: Thanks for the battles, thanks for the outposts, and thanks for the fish.
Now, back to christmas.. I have some T2 parcels to open...

I came to Impass 1 or 2 weeks before the official AAA assault. It was a carebare land full of jucy npc hunters and miners in belts mmmm. At that very moment my skills for vagabond had finished their training at long last so Impass became a place where I've learned how to fly this ship. Ganking, ganking, ganking, squad fights, PvPer's dreamland . From October 11th and till this day I've lost 10 vagabonds to AXE&ASCN and made 337 kills on 'em. Slightly better than my usual k\d ratio of 30:1, not that bad for still learning the ship pilot I guess . Of course there were other ships that I used to fly there but vaga was always the edge of the blade for me.
But I guess I've gone too much into sweet memories, let's sum everything up. I'd like to send my regards to few AXE pilots who were really trying to fight, not smacking on forums or at local. /me opens killboard . Turnschuh keep it up, you were doing just great, I'm also fan of matar ships just like you . ICE Blade nice close combat tempest you've got, train up and get t2 fitting for it . Kezz2411 one more matar fanboi and great tackler . Larietta this zealot on instabs+mwd really got me unawared, thanks to you I'm always ready for such tricks now . Kar Stoertebecker you know vaga-pilots really hate huggins and rapiers , it was always good to see you in space, always had to stay focused to avoid your webbies . Also I'd like to send my respect to some raven pilot who killed me by using -3 scrambling strenght and 2 webbies, too bad I'm not able to recall your name, but now I never go to close combat unless I'm sure that this bs has no webs . Edited by: Saul Dhampir on 25/12/2006 15:11:07 Edited by: Saul Dhampir on 25/12/2006 15:10:13 To be frank, AAA's organisation and commitment from there pilots was staggering. Getting large number to get into system at some obsene hours was very impressive and was one of the major differences between AAA and AXE. Credit is due to the AAA high command for a very well planed and realised campain. Indeed the number of active fighters who would come out and give it there all for AXE was a little dissapointing. They know who they are, and every one else can see from both the AXE and AAA killboards.
I response to M1NeR's comments I would like to mention a few AAA pilots who stood out for there highly skilled combat proformances or just for giving there all regardless of risk, and for talking with there guns alone.
This is by no means a complete list, just pilots whos names come straight to mind.
M1ner, Flash Zed, Svetlanna, Sipser, Breisies, Alaverdina, Crucifier, Maxx Dibrov, Shifu, Rocka, Baranor, Reef Reefov, Evily Dead, Kamikaze Loco.

ok we moved out of impass, why well war is fun (bull****) if you need alot of posses to defend your homeland, still this game is in favior of the attacker not the defender , we had some "ccp Buggs" not getting e-mail when hostile pos going up , pos shooting me at 310 km range and so on , well you learn to live with it ,adapt yet its a game , in a game you need fun as an individual, corp, or alliance , i'm with solst now for nearly 2.5 year nearly 3 year in game , saw it change (some not for the better) i whas in alot of wars , xetic , g aaa , loved them all in a strange way but sometimes you need to take a breather , i call it an empire periode , mm mining in a apoc with 6 lasers where is the time . now i get a christmas pressent goonswarm wardeccing , i hope a sertain person hide behind the biggest veltspar he can find ,
any way merry christmas to you all and a happy new year

Respect to all involved.
Theres been a few shout outs, Im just gona shout out to PoMap for making me never want to engage your crow in any ceptor of mine and being to fast for me to realistically engage you in very much else.
On the whole I enjoyed it, it was fun, I hope next time we get to be the attacker, cos although I cant be 100% sure I think attacking is more fun. I enjoyed some great fleet battles, some great POS battles, some great small gang battles some great 1v1's... it was just great fun but theres no way on earth id of found it fun if i had to be the one doing the pos stuff.
What I really want now is for you to go to war with BOB, wouldn't that be fun? Hell I might even join you if you did, and just think you managed t achieve your objectives without a massive forum campaign. For that you have my respect
Anyway respect for a largely smack free, well planned and executed war and respect to the individual pilots that I ad fun shooting.
LEts not also forget: Respect to my fellow Pilots in AXE.
Dodo
P.S God I hope My characters are docked in my the stations in IMPASS at the moment. Ive been away from the game for a week or so and will be for a while longer, I hope all my assets arent trapped.

Merry Christmas guys, have fun with Impass. -A- fought extremely well throughout the duration of the war, as many have said they were able to consistently amass a superior fleet to ours. Granted I saw a few things happen that weren't entirely unquestionable as far as tactics goes, but for every WTFH4X moment, there were plenty where -A- pilots stepped up to the plate and got it done.
You all were worthy opponents, I look forward to ganking your carebears in Impass .

Saul, you're right that there were a number of AXE pilots (not enough, as we all know) who deserve credit for consistently stepping up and fighting in this war. But don't forget the cov ops boys, dedicated POS monkeys, etc, who don't show up on the killboards but contributed just as much time and effort. I don't claim to be among them (DDC guys know when I did get online I always fought, but starting college has had me mostly absent for these last few months), but those people deserve just as much respect as the ones on the KB.
Oh yeah, and Bobbits, your comments are welcome regarding what this thread is actually about, but you've got plenty of threads of your own, stop trying to make this one of them please. -------------------------- There is only one +6 sword of WTFPWN in Eve, and only the lag is allowed to equip it. |

Great Post... After reading this I am proud to be able to call myself an Axe Member. And Merry Christmas (even though it was over 2hrs ago for me)
To AXE -
Lets get ready to start somthing new and strong, love the fact we are NBSI and Nuetral to everyone. Things are going to be fun for some time, the way I like it.
To -A-
This is a hard one. You guys fought better than I have seen any organization fly. You have more patiance than I could ever think. Very little smack on both sides, and some great and not so great fights. Merry Christmas, and enjoy Impass.

GF to -A- and excellent tactics, in many ways, AXE and ex-AXE is more than likely going to take those tactics and use them to some level. Enjoy Impass, you really did work for it.
zero smack for the most part (there were a few comments in russian about body parts and a few of our guys got very frustrated after node crashes and loss of ships)..
Mostly you guys saw me AFK in a command ship boosting gangs until the big leadership skills smackdown, was working far too much to enjoy this war as I would have liked. Got a few kills, and got killed.. so at least I got that.
Impass is a decent region, though you have the pipe to go through, you will be surrounded on all sides by enemies, all the time.. We had ASCN to the south who we had left on friendly terms and sometimes went to shoot bobbits with.
EOG considered staying to fight, but over christmas break too many of our members are just not available, it would have been fun..
The market in Impass is fully stocked, and you should find the prices are on par with empire (we had a not over 20% markup rule) in many cases the prices are better than empire (*cough* Raven *cough*)
As for EOG, I believe (though not authoritative, and has not happened yet) that we will be parting ways with our friends DDC, and the other AXE corps to pursue something a little different.
-A- might see 'me' back in impass to steal your complex key in z-n

Cheers guys, hope to see you all on the battlefield again one day (when we are not defending)

I'd like to send my regards to few AXE pilots who were really fighting, not just smacking on forums, at local or boasting empty threats to us. /me opens killboard . Turnschuh keep it up, you were doing just great, I'm also fan of matar ships just like you . ICE Blade nice close combat tempest you've got, train up and get t2 fitting for it . Edited by: PDP Kordal on 27/12/2006 01:56:37 Congrats to -A-. Thanks for all the fun!!! You have helped turn a lot of us carebears into pvp'ers. The fleet battles where great. I've got to agree with alot of the AXE posts. Your organisation and commitment from your pilots was staggering. Great battles & congrats on the outcome.
Many thanks to Rocka, Alaverdina, M1ner, Svetlanna, Sipser, Crucifier to name a few. There are many more of u on my kill mails
Thanks for showing me the errors in my carebear ways!!!
I hope you enjoy Impass. Its a great place to hang out.
To the rest of AXE & our FC's. Thanks for the good times. It's been a blast flying with you all.

I think everyone did, not sure why, but she's a good safe-bet primary while you try to load grid, secondary Copeland
To aaa, the vast majority of the gang engagments we had with you guys were an absolute blast. I've always favored small scale combat, and in close quarters the **** stops and you guys put up a proper fight. In fleet fights I usually got primaried too early to be able to judge the fight (portney doesnt seem to like me, doesnt matter who everyone else is shooting, he's shooting me )
Common "connection issues" when in a bubble (and frequently somewhere around half structure) aside, I'm sad to leave impass on the current terms and was looking forward to more battles, large and small. Part of me wants to fight to the last noobship, just to say it was done, win or lose. But I'm getting sick of camping and waiting and watching our numbers fall and morale hit the floor. In the big scheme of things I think Steel made an excellent choice, and I'm looking forward to the new AXE.
Merry Christmas and all that jazz, enjoy the new region; and your collective dedication, as infuriating as it often is, deserves much respect o7

-A- truly is a force to be reckoned with. It wasn't always a lot of fun but it had it's moments. Most of you who have posted here deserve a lot of respect. Those who show their face here were quite honorable in the fights I witnessed.
My only advice would be to start kicking the people who log to avoid bubble camps. A good 1/3 of your pilots defending a POS coming out of reinforced in one event used this tactic. It may not be a petitionable exploit, but this has to be the single most damaging thing to your reputation from my point of view in the war. One particular individual logged in and out for 15 minutes (I was watching the clock) to save his shuttle and pod. The ironic part is quite a few of those that ran it without logging made it thru anyway, meaning it was a largely useless waste of personal integrity.
Otherwise I leave this conflict with even more respect for you than I did at the end of XETIC/Tenerifis/Immensea. GL with your new neighbors! |

Actually I think AAA are some of the best opponents that I've flown against, they are disciplined and aggressive and get a lot of practice at what they do. I have not flown much vs AXE but I do know the guys who were NoQ very well and can get a feel for AXE capabilities by comparison to NoQ pilots on the boards and thus you do -A- a disservice by judging their pilots capabilities so harshly.

-A- are good at what they do. They are dedicated players, who dont bother to set an alarm clock and log 120 ppl on early in the morning. They are very disciplined and thats why they had outnumbered us on their prime time.
As far as why the war got lost for AXE, here are my personal views, which dont represent the AXE high cmd (which I am not member anymore) or official GODS views.
a) ISK invested wrong b4 the war (we could had much more dreads, 2 or more motherships or maybe a titan, insteed of 4 outposts)
b) Wrong tectical decision for impass defence. Insteed of having 150 POSes and paying 3 bils per week for fuels, we could had 3-4 deathstars in each station system and invest the rest of the fuels in capitals
c) the structure of our alliance. AXE was 30% EU TZ and 70% US TZ. We couldnt have 100% of our forces to fight. We either got outnumbered on EU TZ or had the upper hand on US TZ in the most of the fights, but we didnt had the numbers to make somthing
d) Players theirselfs. Me ie, i cannot set an alarm clock at 7AM local time, or stay awake till that time to participate in an op, bcs my wife is gona scrable, web, nos and start killing my pod over and over again.
Those and some more reason, which I am not gona mention here to avoid flaming (isk making through plexes or other sources) are the main reason, we decided to pull out and not making a more lasting pos war.
Again well fought -A-, looking forward to fight you guys again and have fun at impass, while u still got it :-) To all our friends, AXE corps, good luck whatever you do in the future, we are looking forward to fight on the same side again in the future

My props go out to: Harry Ramo: usually a dictor, occasionally something else, deadly regardless 4EBurek: You were so annoying about getting past our camps, we came up with a special nickname for you. Let's just say the forum rules won't allow me to post it here. :) VADIM ART1: I'll still never understand why you were typing "1" in chat every 7 seconds, but assuming you're weren't being an ebil macro'er, you seem to have the entire alliance on speed-dial for when you need 'em. (Whose alt is this, anyway?) FlashZed: A one-man wrecking crew in a Vagabond. Zhbr: I still want to know your tank setup. (Whose alt is this one?) Shifu: Because I could always count on one guy to primary me, even when the rest of the fleet was shooting someone else. LeMoose, BATCOH 1, W1cked Sick: Just general PvP skill.
One little evil note... to Jarni, 4EBurek, Breki (twice!), Aigel, Harry Ramo, Corak, and all the others who tried and failed: seriously, just don't even bother logging off to save your pod with me in Local. :)

We did this once.
The number of times you did it is really irrelevant (though I bet we could have goaded you into doing it a few more times ). The important point is that you actually could get your pilots to do it. I think the basic point being made is something that has already been made a few times before; AXE did not have the participation levels to match yours (80 in gang out of 150 in alliance chat at our peak time on the US TZ while 9z was under attack).
It doesn't take a genious to figure out what comes out of that situation. This isn't meant as an excuse or a whine about -A-, just a simple statement of why we recognized that we couldn't hold on to our region.
Might we have been able to drag it out long enough for the political climate to change and allies to come to our rescue? Maybe, probably not. Would that even have been a good thing for AXE if it had happened? Maybe, probably not.
With long-entrenched 0.0 alliances you often get a buildup of moochers, pvpers get frustrated and/or bored. This is what happened to AXE. We were in the process of trying to change that, and I think we were on the right path, but I doubt we would have gotten there in time to save Impass, and the strife and frustration resulting from that kind of a losing war would probably have torn the alliance apart.
Some people will see this as giving up early, but from where I sit, it's the culmination of a long series of events, partly related to -A-, partly external, partly internal, that probably began the very first day we started squabbling with RAT over E3.
Personally I'm looking forward to what this change will bring. I know a lot of people aren't, and are frustrated with the situation. That's fine, I've been in Impass with DDC for two years, through plenty of big wars, change is good. This is none of my business.. but...
what you wrote there is the bane of any 0.0 alliace. Participation levels
No alliance can afford to hold its own if it cannot expect a basic level of particpation from its membership. And I'm talking greater than 70%, 24/7, 365 days a year. That's the minimum requirement for an alliance to be successful. Alliances that cannot or will not meet such participation levels are just waiting their turn on the chopping block.
Kudos to AXE for recognising this lack, and for wanting to do something about it with a fresh start.
You would not believe the number of alliance leaders out there who refuse to accept this as a basic fact of EVE. Low participation means your alliance is dying or in a zombified state, rank with leechers and pilots who will not fight for love nor money.
Solve participation issues and your alliance has a very good chance of "winning" EVE on the 0.0 stage. AAA seem to have found the magic, BoB have it.. probably RA, TCF and the Goons have it.
One has to wonder whether D2 and LV have it.

I could really go into details on the subject of participation in corps and alliance, but I won't cause it will open so many cans of worms. So I'll make this very short
As somebody who is in AXE leadership and was in ASCN leadership before we left. I can say ArcticFox and Nez Perces really really hit the nail on the head with their post. participation is the #1 key to keeping a corp and/or alliance strong.
That's all I'm going to say :P

Seriously though, I really don't think it's fair to call -A- a creation of AXE. While it's flattering to think that such an force might actually form for the sole purpose of taking on AXE, what I've seen of -A- is not indicative of a force held together by nothing more than a single common target.
Oh yeah, if the 'how does it feel to be beaten' part was intended to be smack, I really don't know why you're bothering. I haven't seen any AXE member deny that we lost. -------------------------- There is only one +6 sword of WTFPWN in Eve, and only the lag is allowed to equip it. |

No smack intended by it, I'm genuinely interested. And what I meant by being a creation of AXE, then I meant by the decision of AXE to throw COL & RAT out of E3 to construct an outpost there.

Thats my take on this as well, -A- seemed to form out of the events there I always thought. Mabye for different reasons. but COL dropped from SA(E?) that night and started working with RAT around then.
*doh, I broke my edited sig :/* *cries* this signature was lacking pink, I'll provide it for you. There. Looks better doesn't it? -Eris Fixed it for you. Oh, btw, yarr! ~kieron Didn't I tell you? Edited by: ArcticFox on 31/12/2006 02:46:27 Hmmm, yeah I suppose it's reasonable that might have been the spark that set off forming into an alliance, but from my memory (which is not, admittedly, perfect) COL showed up after we started trying to push RAT out of E3 (or was it the other way around). In any case, considering they were clearly already leaning toward working together, I imagine something somewhat like an alliance would have formed, but that's just speculation. Where that alliance would have stood in relation to AXE is also pure speculation, but I really doubt it would have been particularly friendly in any case. I don't remember us ever being hug-buddies with RAT even long before E3. -------------------------- There is only one +6 sword of WTFPWN in Eve, and only the lag is allowed to equip it. |

props to -A- GF GL.
Solar Storm moved into Impass quite a long while ago. It was home, now we move on while we are strong, I am very tired of the bull**** POS warfare, its just not fun.
So now we will sharpen our swords and go have some fun. Who knows where we will show up next, but it will be having fun and fighting on our terms.
Happy New year

Change is good. I came back from 3-4 months of downtime from EVE (Real life issues) to be greeted by the change. Besides for me running out of the area with just the ships I could fly out it was a good change. I had a few Fights with AAA n I enjoyed the wars that happened. Having the 0.0 area to play in is nice but it became a job.
So pretty much its like having the ball n chain removed of your leg (the chain being 2 years of assets) but its a change :D
Good luck to whoever gets Impass next, its not the best to make money in trust me :/
