goonfleet strikes again!
jaguar is supposed to be better as it has more slots, and can get an insane passive shieldtank going

Yep. Jaguar is great for solo PvP, as long as you pick your targets carefully.

Edited by: F Apparition on 25/12/2006 00:39:51 Jaguar is usually the best (even better now that the old tracking bonus is now a double damage bonus like the wolf), but if you want a bit of variation, try out this wolf setup.
Highs: 280mm Howitzer Artillery II [11xPhased Plasma S] 280mm Howitzer Artillery II [11xPhased Plasma S] 280mm Howitzer Artillery II [11xPhased Plasma S] 280mm Howitzer Artillery II [11xPhased Plasma S] Launcher Slot
Mediums: Fleeting Warp Scrambler I X5 Prototype I Engine Enervator
Lows: Gyrostabilizer II Gyrostabilizer II Photonic CPU Enhancer I Photonic CPU Enhancer I
443 shield, 2.09/s, E/T/K/Ex=75/60/40/60 843 armor, E/T/K/Ex=92/67/25/10 316.25 cap, +4.59/s, -4.56/s 354.0 m/s 80.6 DPS
Keep them within your 20km range, and if they get too close, web them and get out of the 10km range. Or here's another setup I used to use, and it's my tanking wolf. Works pretty nice.
Highs: 150mm Light AutoCannon II [80xBarrage S] 150mm Light AutoCannon II [80xBarrage S] 150mm Light AutoCannon II [80xBarrage S] 150mm Light AutoCannon II [80xBarrage S] E5 Prototype Energy Vampire
Mediums: Micro Electrochemical Capacitor Booster I [1xCap Booster 200] Faint Warp Prohibitor I
Lows: 400mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I Small 'Accommodation' Vestment Reconstructer I N-Type Magnetic Membrane I N-Type Reactive Membrane I
443 shield, 2.09/s, E/T/K/Ex=75/60/40/60 1893(ish) armor, E/T/K/Ex=92/67/51/40 316.25 cap, +4.59/s, -11.397/s 354.0 m/s 74.0 DPS
Nice passive armor tank, and when done right you can withstand a lot of damage, and use that cap booster in conjunction with your nos to keep your cap going, even if you do encounter larger nos/neuts.
Hope that helps if you want something that isn't the cookie cutter jaguar.

3x150 ACs t2, 1x named small nos MWD, scram, web, med extender t2 2x PDU, inertia stab
-Fits easy -2300+ shields -practically insta warps -fairly fast
Wolf......
4x150 ACs t2, 1x named small nos MWD, scram SAR, 400mm RT plate, kin and expl passive hardners
-A little harder on fitting skills -Only 2 mids no web -1600+ armor with fairly good resists -Doesn't handle as well as your normal frigate due to the plate
That's my 2ISK

Jag might be a bit safer to solo in... but AC wolf is just so much fun! I personally prefer the higher DPS and only slightly worse tank (with two energized kin and exp and a t2 armor rep, it has BETTER overall resists and same regen/sec as passive jag, just less HP and thus worse burst dmg vulnerability and nos vulnerability). The los of a webber is negligible as a frig, to be honest. I've never missed it, and if I went back to a jag I would use the bonus mid for another sheild tanking mod.

Depends... I dont think a Taranis with void is much fun at super close range... --- Eve Wiki | Eve Tribune | Eve Pirate |

I disagree, soloing in an af means your targets are going to be intys and other afs, you need a webber to stop intys just mwding out of your scram range and it helps to keep range on anything with blasters.

Nos against blaster ships works like a charm
